Game Is Still Defaulting to Dry Tires During Rain

Product: F1 24
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
Summarize your bug After patch 1.7 in Career mode, cars are still being defaulted to slick tires in the rain. For example, when starting qualifying in the rain (with DRS Disabled by the stewards), all cars are put on slicks as the "recommended" compound. When I switch to Inters or Wets, the game will warn me that I'm not going onto the track with the recommended compound, and keeps the AI on slicks. In the last session where this happened, the AI eventually switched to Inters in Q3, but were on Softs in Q1 and Q2, leaving me to be seconds ahead of the grid on Inters.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? I forgot to grab it, sorry.
What peripherals are you using? Please list the exact make and model. MOZA R9 base, MOZA GS V2 wheel, MOZA SRP pedals.
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? Spectrum
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Run Career mode and go out on track in a wet quali session. You should see the AI on slicks and the game defaulting you to slick tires.
What happens when the bug occurs? AI running on the wrong tire compound in the rain, causing skewed results and lap times.
What do you expect to see? The game correctly recommending and defaulting the tire compounds to inters or ex wets in rainy sessions.

Apologies for not remembering to grab the Report Code.  Most recently, this happened during quali at Australia in Career mode, and it was when the session STARTED with a wet track.  This is not currently appearing in the list of things being investigated or awaiting a patch.  In other tests where a session started with a dry track and transitioned to wet, AI changed tires correctly.

There is the workaround for the player to select the correct tire compound in the MFD menu, but this did not used to be an issue in previous titles, as the race engineer would adjust your strategy as needed and give you the option to confirm it (this does not happen anymore in F1 24).

  • In addition to this, here's the Report Code to a Career session at Suzuka.  The race started dry, then started raining a couple laps in.  My engineer told me to consider boxing for wet tires around lap 13.  I manually selected to box that lap, and the pit crew put me on Hard tires instead of Inters or Wets.

    Report Code: MGMK-ATHJ-CDMV-RMHD

  • Report Code from another Grand Prix session: REXR-EMPM-MKVR-AABD

I set this session to start overcast and then go wet.  Game started me on Hards, then I was told to come box because it was time to change compounds, and the pit crew put me on Mediums.  The rest of the AI got put onto Inters.

So, I guess this issue got patched for the AI, but not us.

  • There have been multiple threads still reporting this as an issue, and it's still not showing as an Investigated issue on the Community Issues thread.

Is this going to be looked into, or should we all just delete these threads about wet tires?

  • To add to this (again), manually selecting wet tires in the MFD does not guarantee the pit crew will put on wet tires at the next pit stop.

    This is still broken.

@GrumpsMcDumps This is crazy…although this has been claimed for ages, no one takes a deep look. Another thing among Tyre problems is the selection of the tyres you want to have for the weekend. In the coop it is always the medium selection…coop is just abandoned at this point
