Multiplayer (league race) Car takeover not possible + VIDEO

So the situation in the league race was the following: suddenly everyone left the lobby, which indicates that I have lost the connection to the lobby, so I go back to the main menu, rejoin the lobby, then want to take over my AI and nothing happens, no 5 starting lights counting down and my AI just keeps driving, so I closed the game and rejoined, wanted to take over control again and it didn't work again after about 3 laps, my AI just gave up on its own during the race. How can it be that you can't take over control again, that's a really big problem! Especially in league races, when you lose everything because of it, it's really no fun anymore, unfortunately it will probably only be patched after months, if at all.
