@IRxfio Unfortunately AAA gaming industry won’ change until governments force them to… Governments move slower than a dead snail. So a decade at least. Especially as it would require governments from around to world cooperating. Considering countries like USA who let Big corporations get away with mass murder ( Purdue Pharma) just as longs they keep making donations. Or we players stop falling for the same marketing nonsense and stop paying £70+ for the games along with paying for in game purchases to the point shareholders don’t get their cheddar. This will continue to happen year on year.
Only realistic hope is if indie and AA game studios keep up current trend of releasing great games at great prices and making those who buy their games feel valued. Then AAA developers will eventually start treating us with alittle better.
They don’t delay a yearly title… Why? Because shareholders don’t like uncertainty. Any hint of a game delay will spook them and share price will fall.
Cooperate greed and those who profit from it don’t care about games or customers.
Last EA quarterly statement conference call. All the questions ask off EA were from investment banks and the like. All asking about future profits and monetising future games with in game advertising etc. there was one just one game related question. And pretty much a token gesture.
The old saying companies lived by “Always look after your customers, or someone else will”. Means nothing anymore
