    @Gaz4020 Wait.
    This came up in F1 today.
    Exactly what did you replace?
    Just *ONE* part, or *EVERY* part?

    Attached is the Penalty given to Gasly yesterday.
    Each unit he went over was an extra 10 Grid Places...
    But the rules only allow for a max of 15. Anything over, you start from the back. I had no idea this was the rule.
    I'd appeal and start 50 places back. it'd be hilarious..

    One race I replaced ICE and gearbox, other race replaced everything, both times no grid penalty at all…

  • I play on PC & series X. No penalties either. States before race I'll be starting further back but still start from qualy position.

    Hi everyone,

    I can confirm, that this is indeed a bug and shouldn't happen. The team is already aware and are investigating it further, but I've currently got no further updates to share.

    Can confirm on PS5 this happens as well.  If you choose a whole new set of components, you don't get any grid penalty.

    This is yet another bug that not only results in a bad gameplay experience. It straight up violates the rules of F1, the sport that this game is supposed to "officially" represent

    When I took a new engine before qualifying all the penalties were applied properly. When I took a new engine component after qualifying I was told I would start from the back but started on pole.

    Both races ended in DNF from mechanical failures that may have been coincidental.
