Re: EA app - Can't Open F1 24

We did this on my sons computer (windows 10) and still the game will not start.

- updated nvidia drivers…May 21 version 555.85

- deleted hardware settings

- verified files…Steam downloaded 25.3MB

- started game via steam

- F1 24 logo appeared

- admin promote for ea anti cheat. Entered asmin password

- logo still displayed

- blank screen

- back to desktop

- steam says game is not running

F1 23 still works fine.

is there any other troubleshooting you would like us to try and help you determine the cause?

Yes, we installed the latest G-Hub...version 2023.10. It didn't make any difference.

Edit: Originally we have 2023.1. G-Hub said there was an update and it installed 2023.10.

I checked G-Hub again, and now it says another update is available. This time it installed 2024.3.

But, the game still won't start ☹️

If I try to start the EAAntiCheatService manually I get the Error 87. 

F1 23 and F1 24 both make problems if you try to start. 

I'm close to the simplest solution to quit EA Sub. and EA Games. 

Are you willing to share a GDrive link or similar? That would be really helpful. 

Obviously we haven't seen this issue in dev otherwise we would have fixed it - so this is super helpful for us and we are very grateful for you and others in the thread collating and sharing your experiences so we can try and find out what the commonality is and get a 100% reproduction and then a fix. 

@cdm_slumbdogwould be great if we got someone that has the game working on their pc join us so that we can myb transfer AC files from working one to non working one. If it works then we can confirm some cached files were left from steam download or something. I will try cleaning up steam cache as well + install fifa 23 and try seing if it runs the ac on it and if it sees the directory thingy after fifa install since both games use same ac but diff config ofc

I'm also experiencing this issue, I've also reset my Windows 11 OS to a complete fresh copy in the last 24 hrs.

At current I've only installed the following:

Steam
EA App
Brave Browser
AMD Adrenaline latest Graphics Drivers

Only things connected to the PC are the Keyboard and Mouse to prevent anything getting in the way.

Looking at the available telemetry we have, I know that EAAC is not the cause of the issue - I've spoken to the team to check. 

For launch issues, if we can rule out Logitech wheels, or missing Steam files then we can move to understand what it is about the specific PC setup that is causing the game to fail to launch. 

I've got the DXDiags so I'm going to dig in for commonalities. If you folks are chatting together and have any insight on what is the same on the machines that aren't launching, and you can reach out to others who are having success and find a differentiator then we appreciate it greatly. 

We are really invested in folks having a great experience and we didn't see this issue before we launched, so identifying what's changed - even if it's seemingly unrelated, like a Windows or other software update will help us. Even knowing the version of Discord you're using etc can help. 

If anyone does get the game up long enough to have a "running" file created that has a report code which can be useful - 

• The file is created in the game directory, accessible via right-click on the game in Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files (or EA App equivalent)

• It's called F1_24.exe.[number].running and can be opened in notepad. Send the contents.

What region are you in? I can check with Logitech tomorrow if it's been rolled out for you yet. 
One way maybe to confirm it would fix your issue might be to uninstall the wheel and leave it unplugged, if the game boots then we know that the Logitech G Hub update will fix it. 

unfortunately, Logitech GHub 2024.4 hasn't made a difference in my instance, nor the others on discord

Sorry to hear that. Rules out the Logitech known issue and moves us on to other things that will take more investigation. Is anyone getting a ".running" file created. It would persist after a crash, but if it isn't making it then that tells us when in the application start up we are failing to initialise.
