Re: Ferrari Engine Sound Bugged

Hi everyone,

the team has looked into this change to the Ferrari engine sound, and it was actually specifically made to bring it closer in line with the real-world audio.

Thanks for all your feedback though! Long gone are the days of the glorious V8 engine sounds, unfortunately.

How on this planet did the developers ever come to this conclusion that the new Ferrari engine sound is closer to real world audio?

It is quite simply the worst Ferrari engine sound I've ever heard.

The sound has a massive amount of compression and is in such low resolution audio.

I play on console, so don't have the option to download a sound patch made by others, which I would imagine is 10 times better than this garbage the developers have come up with!

So we're now stuck with it. Unacceptable and not good enough!

We are not sitting in real F1 monopost (we are playing a game on a PS5), so the only feedback from the cockpit view is the visual motion and sound. The current sound sample makes the driving experience from the cockpit more difficult, especially in  the driver mode (very low resolution, muffled downshifts, reduced volume, not usable (!like at all!) with the buttkicker Gamer haptics). It would be very helpful to get back on track with the previous Ferrari engine sound sample. Please, please, please...

I'd much rather have the original Ferrari sound back too and that was also a travesty. What does that say about the new one?

I'm absolutely baffled why they can't just use the sound file from F122 for the Ferrari? Best version they created in terms of sound.

The latest Ferrari engine sound is beyond awful. How this was ever passed and checked off as acceptable beggars belief!

    Hey folks,

we appreciate the feedback and I can assure you that we've passed it onto the developers. Feedback is also noted that we should have definitely communicated this change better.

However, even if you are frustrated by the changes, I would ask you to stay constructive.

@EA_Vendcera If the new Ferrari engine sound is here to stay, can the devs at least make it louder? It is noticeably quiter than the rest of the engines.

Compared to the rest of the engine sounds, it's extremely poor. It's almost like it's from a completely different game and a much older one at that.

It's great that the development team have tried to adjust it from the initial release version after feedback there.

However the quality is severely lacking. It literally sounds like listening through a broken set of headphones. Sound is so compressed and muffled.

I'm absolutely convinced they can make it so much better?

I've mentioned it before, but why not just use the sound files for the Ferrari from F122 for now. Surely easy to do?

I am not sure I understand. Ferrari sound is here to stay? Are you not going to revert to how it was before 1.10?

I will try to be constructive. This new sound is the outlier among all other engine sounds in the game. It has nothing in common with real life.

If there are so many people bringing this to your attention and if so many people said do not fix what is not broken, why change it?

can we all get a very clear answer?

    1. Will you revert it back to how it was before 1.10?

    2. Why did you decide to change it? Did people ask for it? What problem did you try to address?

@LightPilgrim You already have the answer to your first question.

The new sound is here to stay, the devs won't revert it to the old one.

As for who asked for it... well, nobody.

The biggest question now in my opinion is how did updating the liveries and tweaking the ERS system result in Brazil being unplayable because the Safety Car comes in every lap. I bet my life that their code for the game is the worst kind of spaghetti code.

Just revert it back to F1 22 and you'll make all of us very happy, that's constructive enough I think

@DrCarter33 Agreed and how easy would that be to implement. There is absolutely no excuse for not doing it.

Says a lot when an engine sound from a 2 year old game is ten times better than the incumbent version.

The Ferrari engine sound update is a complete hash!
