The team is still investigating this issue. The last time I wrote here, I requested some error report codes, and I got 0 answers. Without enough details, it is difficult for the team to reproduce an issue and investigate it.

@EA_GroguetWith respect, this issue is not that hard to reproduce. Just have someone play a whole season of 50% races. But to be more specific about this issue, there are only two conditions that can cause a VSC or a full SC right now.

1) If there are two retired cars on the track at the same time (doesn't happen very often)

2) If a car spins out and blocks the way, so other cars can't pass (only ever happens during wet conditions, since the AI drives too flawlessly)

The problem is that the games code focuses on the wrong conditions when it is deciding if it should send in the SC. If a single car stops on track because of a mechanical failure, and if it happens on specific points on the track (fast straights, tight corners), the SC should always come in. Especially if it is set to "increased".

By the way, I still don't understand why the CPU takes control over our car once we have a mechanical failure. Why can't we manually stop at a spot we deem safe, or why can't we retire going to the pits if we are close? In multiplayer, I understand all this, because I'm sure there would be a lot of morons parking the car on the middle of the road, but in single player... let us have FULL control of our actions in every situation!
