VR = Game Crashes randomly when it switch from 3d VR to 2D VR (Big Sreen View)This issue has been happening since F1 2022 and still not solved, main reason why I just stop playing these games since I would only race in VR and if this is broken I would just move on to different sim that offers more reliable experience. Whenever the game switches from Car View (3d) to Menu Screens (2d) there is a high chance that Steam VR would crash. It is not consistent but happens at least to me 50% of the time. Easy to repo with a few tries such as trying to restart a race, or when you pass finish line and it goes to 2d view. I am using an Quest 3, and my system is more than capable of running VR. Intel i7 with NVidia RTX 4070 Ti, and 32GB Ram.I have seen other games implement the same switch mechanisms between 3d and 2d such as Elite Dangerous and never had this issue with them, so this game must be doing something really wrong.

Same problem with me. As soon as the game changes from VR3D to VR2D, the game often crashes. If I drive the training challenges, the game crashes in the last corner of the first round. No error code just info that the vr stream stopped working.

Unfortunately, it can't be played, it has happened to me several times that I fought in a race with all my strength, and instead of a celebratory gesture, the game crashed instead of a celebratory gesture. Very demotivating to play longer races.

seems update didn't include anything to solve this. Still happened right away after a crossed the finish line in practice session, SteamVR crashed and closed the game. This is very frustrating since I can't commit to any type of long session without the fear of just knowing I will be wasting my time since game won't register completion. Like imagine getting into a 1hr30m race and crossing the finish line and game crashing right away with no xp gain, nothing back, it just didn't happen. Going into ranked mode is a no since as soon as I pass finish line in Qualy lap can crash as well and then I get DNS on race.

Same here. F1 23 would freeze at the end of the race. This year i tried career, went to change the setup in fp1 and froze. So completely unplayable. Game still runs on desktop screen normally, frozen in HMD.

Forgot to mention only happens on the f1 games. Automobilista, AC, ACC run very good.

I have no idea if this will solve your problem. Today, with patch 1.4, I completed all the practice challenges, the race and the game ran without problems, the Bahrain F1 race, all three practice challenges and the race without problems. I am playing on VR Quest 3. I had to setup everything according to youtube instructions. Here's a link to the setup I used. I used to drive F2 and get these errors and the game show crashes from switching from 3D to 2D. I didn't try the F2 race today, so I have no idea if this problem will continue in Formula 2.

Not a single hot-fix since release has mentioned anything in regards to VR stability improvements nor any future plans have been shared. It is so disappointing that no love has being put into such a unique experience. For someone that has tried this, it is the closest you can get to what a F1 driver sees in the real thing.
