Controller on F1 25

Hi everyone, several people and I have already been discussing this on the forums. I think this is the worst installment ever for an F1 game if you play on a controller. The disadvantage is massive in terms of tire wear and rotation in certain corners. I completely understand that the game should be designed for wheel players, but not everyone has the means to afford a wheel setup.

Also, stop saying that if 2% of controller players manage to reduce their tire wear, it means all other controller players can too. This season, the difference in wear between a wheel player and a controller player was tested, and some people are seeing a 15%-20% gap (which is huge).

The worst part of all is the setups; we are forced to run more wing and lose top speed because it's so difficult to turn. Just look at the setups in Brazil—since when do the best lap times in the world use wings as low as 28/15? Last year, it was much higher just to be able to turn through the Senna S. What’s the excuse? Do we have to invest [in a wheel] or just stop playing F1 games altogether?

Regarding drivers who use assists, I also find their race pace to be completely broken. Anyway, I wonder if there is a single kind soul at Codemasters who actually tests the games and can fix this

Have you considered playing with your controller config and customisation settings? You'd be surprised how different your car will handle in terms of quicker direction changes and smoother inputs when you play with steering rate, max wheel rotation, steering saturation and linearity. You can even have multiple controller profiles for various track types.

If you simply use the default settings and use it on all tracks, you're not going to maximise opportunity for laptime. Wheel users are not just automatically quicker because they're on a wheel. Almost all wheel users have custom profiles and adapt the settings to suit their driving style. You can do the same on a controller!

Want to make TC Off easier on a controller? Play with your throttle linearity/saturation and give yourself more trigger travel before the car bites. Same with the brakes to avoid locking up without ABS. There is so much you can do! Everyone has different preferences, driving style and reaction times. Default settings are never going to be as fast!

In your Senna S example at Brazil, I just had a good result in a league race against Wheel users, who I know are using the pro/paid setups as well, and I ran 16/9 aero and was matching their first sector times! Play with your settings!
