Driver Moves - Spot On?

Hi All,

I'm interested to see how everyone has gotten on with the driver moves for this years game.

I've just completed my first season with Williams (replaced Sainz). At the end of year Alonso retired and was replaced by Hamilton who really struggled for Ferrari (like rl). Ferrari snapped up Sainz (no brainer there) and Aston Martin sacked Stroll (and we all know that without Daddy's money thats exactly what would happen) and hired Colapinto. And thats it, everyone else stayed put.

To me thats almost spot on for what I like, a few moves but nothing outrageous.

Thoughts?

  • Well it's pretty random, I've seen Stroll in Redbull for example.

Though, to me, I would be more than fine with absolute bonker transfers if drivers would switch to sponsor-less helmet when they move teams. Sadly it's not the case.

Oh wow, Norris won my WDC in Season 1 but he stayed.

I signed a two year extension with Williams as I think we've got a shot at the title for season 3, maybe!

  • I did a 10 year Sim with both normal transfer frequency and also one with increased frequency. The frequent one was more normal, weirdly.

In the normal one, I had the likes of Hakkinen getting replaced with O'Sullivan, Senna replaced by Villagomez and Hamilton kicked out of Ferrari because they couldn't say no to the true brilliance of Barnard.

In the frequent one, drivers did move around alot but it just seemed like people had their level.  So the good drivers just rotated seats and the F2 Fodder filled in the gaps of retirements and the backmarkers.

One weird thing I noticed was that in both scenarios, out of the 20 seasons across both simulations, in 16 seasons whomever was the drivers world champion didn't drive for the same team next year.   I kinda expect that in the increased frequency one but that's quite high across both.   In 5 seasons, they weren't even on the grid the following year.
