F1 world wet weather

I just done the driving lesson (wet): Braking and I had no problem with the racing wet conditions like I do in career mode. I know AI difficulty is 35 for f1 but at least 2 of the AI I was racing against had a tech level of 288 and 299 and my tech level is 251 so surely I shouldn’t have been able to get past them like I did? I’m so confused now, is it an AI issue or isn’t it?
