Even with the safety car and red flags set to increased, they are never used.
The AI cars in career often break down in very dangerous areas of the track causing yellow flags for a couple of laps - then just disappear and the race continues.
This was the same in last year's game too.

On career mode? For real? If so you are the only one that it works.
Everyone complain about it.. everything works did full season and they crash and even flags works there isn’t a problem , you’re people just complaining too much ..
But guess what, we can do reverse race now ... such an important feature 😂
There is simply no random event (collision, crash or else). It's been an issue for 2 years and they never acknowledge it. I'm trying hard to get it noticed but no one seems to care.
I had 8 races so far in My Team, and the Safety Car came in during 3 of them. But mostly it comes in when one of the AI cars spins out and ends up blocking the other cars. On one occasion, a car with a mechanical failure stopped right at the pit entrance. If that doesn't trigger a Safety Car I don't know what does. So yeah, the SC does come in, but there are problems with it.
Yet to have a red flag, so I can't comment on that topic.
