Suggestion - Add a Spectate mode to My Team Career

Hey all,

Title says it all. With us focusing more on management, any chance of us having the option to just Spectate sessions and races and watch our two drivers race as their AI?

It doesn't feel realistic to me now having the option to play as one of the two drivers, because you just pick your favourite/lower rated one for team performance. It would be interesting to see it properly play out over a watchable broadcast in the races.

I keep alternating driver. I’d love to have a hot seat where you can alternate who you drive as during the race, say 25% distance for A then for B and so on. And a chance to qualify as both drivers.

I’m not sure the value of spectating if you can’t give orders to at least pit. Maybe highlights after a simulated race? Maybe now that they dumped the old consoles it would be possible.

I see value in letting us pick our team mate’s race strategy though.

  • I'd like a Spectator mode in general.  I remember they used to have them in the 2000's games and you could also set up the grid however you liked.   Good times.

In terms of MyTeam, I think this was asked a while ago (or something along the same avenue) and it was believed that they were looking to maintain the aspect of it being a racing game rather than a management game.   That's not to say it's not something they've not thought about, but that there wasn't much in the way of intending to incorporate it yet.

I did wonder if people alternate which driver they are, or if they just choose one of their two drivers and stick with them.   I did originally alternate, but whomever I wasn't would absolutely destroy their engine during the previous race(s) so I've given up and just choose whichever driver I have more affinity to.

I do think an option where you can manage the drivers rather than play as them would appeal to alot of people, (especially in the supposed demise of F1 Manager) particularly if there's an option where you can jump in and take manual control if needed, but I think that would require a fair chunk of computing power.
