It would be great to replace Jack Doohan with Franco Colapinto, since Doohan is not currently part of Formula 1, while Colapinto has already made his debut in the series.
Including Colapinto would make the game represent the real grid more accurately and also give visibility to a young driver with huge potential. I’m sure many players would appreciate this update to keep the game as realistic as possible.
I personally wouldn't appreciate them doing it as Colapinto is straight-up garbage. I would appreciate them fixing his driver rating though as he starts in the late 70's when I start a career and he is a 67 at best. No idea where you get the idea he has huge potential unless it's a huge potential to be mediocre for years (as a fair few drivers have achieved that over the years and kept their place on the grid).
Replacing Jack with Colapinto also takes out an additional driver from the available pool of drivers and that's already pretty sparse. If they just put Doohan in the available-to-sign drivers then that would be fine, but it would be a departure from what they normally do as he wasn't in F2 last year.
That being said, while Franco is only classed as a temporary driver (hence the reason for the replacement not already happening), I fully expect him to complete the real-life season as if you can stink up the joint this badly all year and still keep your seat then you're basically a permanent driver. Therefore it would be more realistic for him to be the second driver, despite the fact he's absolutely honking.
I have just finished my 2nd Season in Driver Career (PS5).
In Season 1 of my Driver Career, Doohan was racing, however at the start of Season 2 (a month ago) there were a few driver changes, and Doohan was replaced by Colapinto. So Colapinto is on the F1-25 grid in my Driver Career.

I think the original intention for the OP was for Colapinto to be at Alpine from the start of the careers and also in the Grand Prix mode too, yeah.
It was just coincidence that in your game Franco joined the actual team he joined in real life. Although one that would happen more often than not as although he's shonky in real life, the game gives him VASTLY overrated stats and encourages his promotion to the grid and as Alpine are a backmarker team, he'd join them more often than he would a Red Bull or McLaren.
