This is the main thing that has kept me away from the F1 games. There really is no excuse any more for delivering a warped visual experience to triple screens. It just can't be that hard to fix, as every other sim has done it.

The racing game/sim cannot cross-play between PC and console if true triple screen support is enabled. This is why racing sims like iRacing are PC only and why Assetto Corsa Competizione does not support cross platform play, because the ACC console sim and the ACC PC sim are actually different on a code level.
I agree with you on the frustration but F1 has always been a console-first "simcade" and adding true, native, triple-screen support would, in effect, create a separate game for PC-only players and cross-platform racing could not be supported.
I am not an expert on this but this is my understanding.
