Unplayable on controllers

I’ve been playing F1 games for years, but this year it’s just way, way too difficult for us controller players. It’s hard to turn properly, and even the acceleration doesn’t behave the same as it does with a wheel. There’s a noticeable tyre wear difference—sometimes 20 to 25%—especially on 50% race circuits. The performance gap is so big that in our online league with friends, we’ve had to split controller and wheel players into separate categories.

It honestly feels like a football team playing without cleats.
I really hope EA or Codemasters can fix this, because from what I’m hearing from other controller users, many are ready to skip this year’s game entirely and walk away from the F1 series.

  • Tyre wear is the biggest problem on pad which in turn creates understeer/oversteer when cornering. For example Medium tyres are lasting me no more than 6-7 laps in an online 50% race lobby around Miami no matter what driving style is used. Its not so much the handling model for me to be fair its too grippy even using no assists (Dare to know the difference with medium/Full Traction) which is another debate for a separate day because you was slower using assists back in say 2020 which is the reason I originally got rid of my stabilisers. Guess I changed at the wrong time but refuse to go back as I get more out the game and car setups in the long run..
