There were no commending threads about the 1.08 patch because CM/EA weren't making any changes to the AI in 1.07, 1.08 or 1.10....so either you hadn't played since before 1.06 when they made the last AI update, or it is placebo effect of installing a patch and thinking it changed something.
1.08 literally just added the Chrome McLaren and addressed a CPU usage issue according to the patch notes.
Nothing has changed, it's just the same.
