VSC Assist

Hi,

I've been thinking about the vsc delta in the games for a while now and now that I've been caught out by my own skill issues in a league race I'd like to suggest an assist.

When driving to a delta, it would be good to have some sort of visual representation of that on the racing line. (If turned on)

Either some sort of indicator or ghosted safety car that you need to stay behind. That way it would be easier to gauge when the virtual car would be slowing down for a corner and you don't end up with a drive through because you went too quick through a corner as the vsc is ending.

Some real F1 drivers actually have a proximity beep in their ears that will speed up and slow down depending on their gap to the delta. This would be a welcome and easy to implement feature rather than have ghost cars.

When i have a VSC, i generally accept that I need to sacrifice at least 1 second to prevent any rapid gain if the VSC ended mid corner. Most drivers in my league will do the same. If drivers choose to cut it fine and sit within a tenth or two of the delta, that that's a risk and they pay the price if it goes wrong!

What i would say, is that getting an instant Drive-Through Pen for being just 0.001 second over the delta at the green flag is very harsh, and I'm pretty sure real drivers simply get a 10 second penalty for a minor VSC/SC infringement. Obviously if someone's over the delta by 5+ seconds then it needs a stiffer penalty. but if it's under a second, this could easily be a time pen.

  • Hello, it is not possible to have a ghost vehicle as you mentioned in order for the game to resemble real conditions. However, I would like to point out that you generally need to go between 50-80 km/h.
