Were there a lot of regulation changes between seasons? It's probably just a case of them choosing to continue developing new parts instead of adapting them to the new regulations meaning they lost a lot of ground for the new season.
I’m still on the first season. I stopped playing it for a while because I got bored of all the issues. But it did mention regulation changes for the next season about a race or 2 ago so it could still be why.
