Would the Icon edition be worth it for players like me?

I get it is early days and the details are not yet out but I'm trying to figure out why someone like me would get the Icon edition. I play mostly My Team and not multiplayer or online.

I don't like F1 World- So the Bumper Pack and the Exclusive Lewis Hamilton Event in F1 24 has no appeal.

-3 day early access is not an incentive.

-I don't do time trial so using the 25 cars in F1 24 is not an incentive.

-I don't live in the US so I won't get the F1 TV Pro subscription.

-Unless there is more to the F1 75 Celebration than an ugly suit, gloves and livery that's useless.

-Not sure the Hamilton icon pack gives me- so might be an incentive?

So that leaves 13,000 extra Pitcoin and F3 driver icons. And if the game is like last year, nothing to spend my Pitcoin on.

I know I don't fit the profile of the average player- over 50 and uninterested on on-line play but shouldn't there be more on offer to make it worthwhile?

And again early day and maybe the deep dives in April will make it more obvious.

This is a great post and one that describes perfectly what I think of the iconic edition. The pre-order bonuses are simply not worth the extra expense, even with the 15% off deal at the moment.

I don't play F1 World, it doesn't interest me in the slightest, so those extras are wasted on me. Getting 3 liveries, 2 of which look identical to 2024's, that I can only use in the older game, and only in Time Trial is not really an incentive!!

I live in the UK so I can't even use the F1 TV subscription.

Exclusive access to an F1 World event? I don't play it, and I played the Verstappen version last year after pre-ordering at £89.99, and it was a 5 minute feature that was so laughably easy I could have put the controller down and left the room, only to come back and still have won the race.

The extra 13,000 pit coin is the ONLY real incentive here, but in 2024, there was NOTHING to buy with it, to the point that they added a couple of helmets and liveries at a massively inflated price just to get people to use up the pitcoin. We are now 10 months into F1 24, and i STILL have all 18,000 pitcoin sitting there unspent browsing a barebones "Store" in hopes of seeing a decent hemet design. Back on F1 23, the "Store" was FULL on Day 1 and I spent ALL my pit coin from the pre-order, and even bought more! Take note EA!!

I'm going for the standard edition this year, because the pre-order bonuses are the same as last year and really do not look like a good deal for me. Having access to classic cars or classic tracks would be a better incentive to spend that extra money!!

Yup totally agree only incentive is the extra pit coin especially if you play MyTeam.  But is it worth the extra 20 quid?  Nope.

A much better incentive to pre-order Iconic edition and spend the extra cash would be to include the VIP tier of podium pass with it.

It's not much, considering you only ever really get 2 extra helmets and liveries in each PP season, but at least it's a saving of 9,000 pitcoin each season meaning you can spend more pitcoin in the "store"

  • I would never preorder. You can get it with a huge discount very soon. Assuming you will still want to get it

Yup I'll be waiting 2-3 months when it goes on a 40% discount
