ERS switching constantly

I have ERS Assist OFF and my keybinds do not have any problems. Everytime I start a race, my ERS is automatically ON and pressing the appropriate keybind does not turn it off. Sometimes, by going into the pit, my ERS mode switches OFF and then it cannot be turned on. While I am racing, the ERS UI blinks on and off constantly. I changed keybinds and even tried using keyboard and the problem persists.
