@Artax04Really? Few people will destroy your race in first corners in ACC? Oh my... Thank you for proving to everyone else here that actually plays ACC daily that you never actually competed online and you are just stating utter nonsense. The only places where you don't get constantly bumped on the first corner are top splits in ranked servers but that's only because the competition there is a selected one (and even there accidents by silly mistakes still happen, you just need to look at livestreams from Jardier for example). You cannot expect open lobbies to behave even remotely close to top ranked splits in dedicated servers. You aren't making any sense and you have never actually played ACC on an open lobby yourself, that much is clear.
@WollcottWhy you "league racers" don't actually adapt by, who knows, using more than 5 laps? What's even the point of racing online with just 5 laps is beyond me. Instead of treating the game as an arcade why don't you try to treat it as an actual racing simulation just for once? You will find no other racing sim around where the online player base (especially in leagues and top splits, where long races are usually the norm instead) does 5 laps races, as it makes absolutely no sense.
- @Amioram what the hell? ofc nobody does 5 laps as league races. you just do 5 laps for fun but thats no fun anymore because 5 lap "races" have turned into 2 laps of pin ball and 3 laps of racing....
league races are 50% of course. but right now we cannot do it because of the sound issues. - @Wollcott So if 5 lap races are done only for fun what's the issue with the temps? Actually it should be even funnier now that people have cold temps. I really don't get why you care so much about such an inessential issue in an actual driving game. Short laps races just for fun can be enjoyable here and there but surely they aren't - and shouldn't be - the primary focus on a simulator.
- @Wollcott Apparently you love to attack other people out of nowhere. I thanked David and you need to get personal again without knowing me.
I don't want to defend Wollcott in any way, but your post regarding the existence of "5 laps races" is subjective and just ignorant. I am a league racer but not all of my friends are and 5 lap races can be a ton of fun. There is also a joy in making a competition with e.g. 5 tracks á 5 laps because it shows who ist the most versatile and adaptive driver. It's a difference if you can practice for a single 50% or 100% race and be good or to be good on random tracks. But this is of course my personal opinion too.
But it's a fact that Codemasters / EA is OFFERING and SELLING 5 Lap Races, so a customer should be allowed to exprect that this mode works as it is supposed to be. And it's legitimate that if you play a game for 1 month and the races start with a normal temperature that you are frustrated when it's different on the next day.
There are far bigger problems than the "5 laps/temperature"-issue, but it surely adds to the frustration regarding online (ranked) lobbies.Edit: @Amioram I wanted to add that you are of course right that this mode is probably mostly used by "casual" or "arcade" players. But because of this it makes even less sense to make the game harder for these people. Starting with 70°C is just harder for everyone.
- @mariohomoh are you gonna say same things to Marcel Kiefer? https://twitter.com/marcelkiefer_/status/1554792798141947905?t=qXs0TEGWJXp53DRwbHE7pw&s=08
- @Amioram I can answer that with a definitively "no issue". The tyres should warm up naturally as the race progresses anyway so I don't see how this is such a big deal, there's other stuff to sort out first. I personally don't use 5 lap race option, I can't use the SC nor do I have much enjoyment from such a short race, I like some strategy and pitstops involved, perhaps the weather could change mid race, oh by the way @DavidG53 if the AI can be adjusted in the wet as well, to where we can race with them (though I personally never tried it) that would be a great remedy. We appreciate your dedication to help with issues

@TryonGravity regarding your previous #3, indeed it'd be better if the game just put you straight on flying lap temperature for the ranked sessions.
But the FIA does mandate that the tyre blankets must be limited to 70°C on starting procedure up to the formation lap. After the warm-up lap, the cars will naturally start at whatever temps they managed to get and it's all game. You have clarified your point since the first post, but the issue lies on how the ranked sessions are made, not with them adhering to the FIA regs.
@BadMayh3m that is correct though?
- Lower pressures, lower baseline temps and better traction as long as you keep the temps in the optimum working window
- Higher pressures, higher baseline temps and worse traction
There can still be something wrong with the game, mind you. It's just that there are some misconceptions around the sport going around, and it's important to have them in mind because that's what the game is trying to replicate.
- The pressures you set on the garage are not "final". They're the pressures under the tyre blankets.
- Given that the volume stays the same, the higher the pressure the higher the temperature. That's just the way it is, old PV = nRT physics and P1/T1 = P2/T2
- The more pressure you pack into the tyre, the more "air" it has, and it takes longer for all that material to get hotter or colder.
- After you leave the garage and hit the track, the more heat you work into the tyres the higher the pressure will get. Tyres with low "garage pressures" are more volatile, gaining and losing temps easily; tyres with high pressures are more resilient to losing temps but also tougher to heat and will keep their temps for longer.
- Wet tyres are very different from dry tyres. Different working window, different temps, different "garage" pressures to deal with the wet conditions. When you cannot change compounds but still need to account for a damp track, "garage" pressures (or cold pressures) are set usually a bit higher than usual to give you a higher baseline temp and a better shot at hitting the desired hot pressures with a lower track and ambient temperatures.
By the way, someone posted on /r/F1Technical asking if the temp model of the game was wrong since 1.06.
Edit: @Maegnys it was hard already to take you seriously with how pretentious and how easily you were jumping to conclusions. Now if you really think you hitting the same notes as Kiefer's, I don't even know where to start 🙃
You and Kiefer are not even talking about the same topic.Anyway I said it here that the it would be better if the game just got you straight up to flying lap temps on ranked 5 lap sessions. Just as I did previously in direct response to you here. but looks like you were too enraptured by inflating your "est. 2019" accolade to notice. Everything else about how ludicrous it is to refer to the 70°C update as a joke and demanding realism while not caring for formation laps remains. Nothing changed. And there's nothing here conflicting with what Kiefer tweeted.
