If I buy F1 2022 on Steam, can I play with my friend who bought it on Origin ?

Origin and Steam will not be able to play online together. When crossplay is introduced later in development, then all platforms can play together in supported crossplay modes (Social Play and Two-Player Career modes)

Then act accordingly.
He being on EA's payroll, that's called a job, you do it for a living. It's not a lifestyle choice. He didn't "undertook" it just for kicks and giggles.
Makes no sense to come here, say that HE ruined your day and that HE should stick around to hear grief even if his boss doesn't demand it from him.

So, Steam version works with background Origin client. So, for fast game you have to all buy origin. There is a rule - riight people have to buy EA game only in Origin.
But the choose is different.
Nobody tell as how VR will be in origin?
In description of origin version of game you can read that no crossplay even between origin and steam.
In description of origin version of gave you can read that there are no VOIP chat on ORIGIN, only third party chats.

so neither Codemasters or EA were able to tell us before release of the Champions Edition, that it´s not possible to play together between Origin and Steam players.
They just hold back this important information for whatever reason.
Nearly every racing league on PC has now a problem, A part of their drivers has the game on Steam and the other part on Origin.
So what should we do now? There is no clue when crossplay is going to be released.
So please EA or Codemasters: @EA_Kent
1. give us a minimumtime how long it will take to patch crossplay between Origin and Steam. weeks? a month? More then a month?
2. Please explain to us, why it wasn´t clearly told before the release that it´s not possible?
3. What advise do you give to F1 leagues, which now have their field split up on Origin and Steam?
I really hope to get a answer cause sooner or later it is important.

aren't you ashamed of yourself?? you made people buy the game on two different platforms, without warning anyone of the possibility of not being able to play together. now i am forced to have a disgusting ea play for nothing since my friends are on steam… and guess what? EVEN THE ANNUAL PASS CANNOT BE CANCELED .... YOU SUCK.
