@v8u5jco54ukp Simulations are often not correct as they most of the time only change grip like in Assetto Corsa just gives the amount of grip from a different tyre.. but theres a HUGE difference in how it would play out IRL
1. The tyres will also add weight and drag, the latter twice as they are obviously wider and the tyres are the worst drag the car has (so its said) and i heard (and it makes sense) that the grooves were reducing drag by a little bit as its not one solid wall but partly a little less.. The weight isnt even a small difference but at least 10-20 kg especially 2023 tyres..
2. Downforce is required to make the tyres work, 2004 cars didnt have the amounts of downforce 2006 cars had not even speaking of 2017 or later.. so the loads working would be lower, potentially not extracting the maximum grip
3. The whole suspension is not built for the tyres so it would likely not work ideally, especially on the F2004 which was built to perfectly work with the Bridgestone tyres which were in turn also built to perfectly work with the F2004, people underestimate how much of a difference it makes when your tyre supplier builts his tyres to suit your car and suspension setup, Pirelli makes tyres to fit ALL cars..
But as Hempyjr said a proper comparison would be really nice.. another nice one to see would be the 2005 cars with first proper grooved tyres not tyres hard as stone to last the whole race and then second slick tyres..

So after Leclerc tease about supercars, i think it's 100% clearly that we won't see classic cars back in F1 23 at least (maybe EA will give us a surprise after all tho i doubt it) ! Maybe in F1 24 we will see them back, together with a new engine and who knows what else lies ahead of us for F1 24 🙂
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@Hempyjr Because F1 is chasing a younger hipper trendy demographic. I think it’s by design adding Supercars. Why do I want Classic cars? Because I have fond memories seeing them race. Whereas when I was younger anything classic ment boring
- mariohomoh3 years agoHero (Retired)@ScarDuck14 Classic cars could be used in special events of challenges recreating historical battles or races in F1. So even if young audiences or newcomers to the sport don't have the same emotional link as some of us, the challenge aspect could still draw them in - and from there it's a potential virtuous cycle of only getting them more and more into F1.
Super cars are just... There.
One interesting take I heard is that supercars and clothes are there as part of a marketing push so that EA can secure other licenses from those companies on the cheap.
I'm not sure it makes perfect sense, but that's a possibility indeed. - ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@mariohomoh Actually makes a little sense as clothes are a thing in NFS Unbound. Hey we can’t pay you what you’re asking for: But what we can do is add your clothing line to the the officially licensed F1 franchise. 🤷🏻♂️

I also think epic names of the old F1 are known by everybody, even by the younger who may like to run with the car of a certain Ayrton Senna for example…
- Hempyjr3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Nuvolarix Definetly a plus and combined with classic cars that would be a dream come true. I hope will see again classic cars in future F1 titles cause playing F1 2020 just for them is not working especially when my friends are not playing...
