Did some more testing this morning. The biggest issue seems to be how the Medium TC setting is configured this year as I mentioned previously. It just seems Medium TC does not have a significant effect in comparison to Full TC, or No TC. Medium really should be called LOW when you compare it to how medium effected the car in F1 21.
I played around this morning with Full TC on, and yes it bogs you down alot and you can just mash the throttle to the floor with no concerns about spinning but you will go slower as the TC kicks in. But if you feather the throttle a bit out of turns even with Full TC on, you'll notice that bogging tends to go away a bit becuase you're forcing the TC system to work less but not mashing the gas. However its certainly FULL TC as there's virtually no way to spin the car out and that makes sense given it's called FULL TC. lol
Medium is the problem though. The system isn't providing enough TC to compensate for the increased loss of grip in F1 22's handling model. I'm convinced it just wasn't tweaked. I felt it was a bit overpowered honestly in F1 21, but this year it certainly feels like it's got the same TC strength, but it isn't helping because of the lack of grip in the new car handling model. At least in F1 22 you could take a medium/high speed corner on full throttle, or just lift slightly and you'll feel the medium TC kicking in. This year that's non-existent it seems and you're just going around unless. This is fine as it creates a nice challenge, but it's certainly not idea for controller players. To be successful and carry speed through corners you've got to spend alot of your lap feathering the throttle now. Makes sense; I get it you can't always run wide open. That's the problem though for controller players. There's only so much you can do with your trigger sensitivity settings to manage driving this way and it's incredibly uncomfortable to have to sit hear and feather a trigger that only travels what... maybe a half inch before it's a full press? So unless you have incredible control over your finger pressure on the triggers so you can manage you trigger around 25-75% throttle for most corners you're toast with medium TC. NEvermind even trying with TC off. I could at least drive laps in F1 21 on most circuits with TC off. I was able to manage at places like Canada, France, Monza, Sochi etc. In F1 22, not a chance even taking off from a straight line it seems nevermind a corner.
Back to Medium TC though I really hope an adjustment is coming but it's certainly needed or there's going to be alot of frustrated players with controllers having to play with Full TC on which really ruins the enjoyment of the game; it doesn't feel like you're even driving with Full TC. Medium is just too far gone and I'm convinced it simply wasn't boosted a bit to account for the lack of grip this year compared to last. It's really got the game borderline unplayable with a controller in it's current state. Sure; car setups may help but that doesn't benefit the average player who doesn't dabble in that.
Full in my opinion is at it should be.
None is probably as it should be but virtually impossible on a controller
Medium feels alot to me this year, like No TC did last year to be honest and that's a problem.
