Make standard corner cutting setting more stricter

You shouldn’t be able to cut a whole corner or extend so much and not a get a warning. Tracks like Austria, Britain, Jeddah, Canada, Mexico and Brazil you gain over a second by not even attempting to make some corners. It’s pretty much just cheating. The distance a driver can be from the white line needs to be much smaller on the standard corner cutting setting

For a lot of corners they are curbs on the inside or outside of a corner. That should be the distance you have from the white line to not get a warning. Even that can be argued to be too big of a window on some corners

For info. the second part of Marcel's video below makes it looks like the game physics changes will actually lead to it being faster to more realistically reflect track limits, which for me is actually a better way to help solve the issue than adjusting the penalty system:

What they did with the Cota America track  needs to done for every track. Actually punishing you for cutting and extending.  Codemasters did well with that track so hopefully they can try do it for every track

I assume the COTA changes reflect real sausage kerbs? Note Marcel's video also shows how merely the physics changes will affect how other tracks are driven (with Austria and Imola being the examples in the video).

Maybe with the handling being understeery, the lack of traction on saw tooth kerbs and astroturf combined with the accurate placement of “no gamble” sausage kerbs we can see how the existing system fares.

I’d be in favour of no changes and seeing if strict becomes IRL and standard continues as the norm for cheating. 😃
