Hi, thanks for the reply, I’ll give this a go, not much more else i can do at this stage. Not sure this would fix it as on the first ps4 I had these issues I don’t think rest mode was enabled either and I still had crashing problems. But I guess maybe new generation and all might be different
Could I ask why this should be a possible solution? It confuses me why this could be causing the crashing
- ScarDuck142 years agoLegend@karlc98 It’s always been a issue with PS5 since launch. Sony have fixed the biggest issues but small issues still persist. One of them is game crashes.
Also if you have device link selected I’d turn that off.
I turn off al rest mode features as a rule and I’ve play 700ish hours just on F1 22. My game has only crashed a handful of times. Few of those were when I had rest mode on or when I’ve booted from rest mode.
It’s a widely reported issue. Plenty on YT videos on the issue Device link as in connection to my phone?
I’ve also just finished rebuilding the database and reinstalling last night aswell

@karlc98Sorry I ment HDMI device link
Be sure you’re TV is switched to game mode
Yeah I double checked that my tv was automatically set to gane mode when using the ps5 and it is, I’ve no idea if this will fix my issues as it only ever happens during f1 right before my face starts and I come back dsq’d
- ScarDuck142 years agoLegend@karlc98 Me either. But it’s all I got. Compared to other platforms this game runs with fewer issues on PS5 but it still has them unfortunately
Appreciate your help, I’ll play it out for a week or so and try a few races and hope to god that this works
- ScarDuck142 years agoLegend@karlc98 Anytime. Just hope it works.

Rest mode is the worst idea to come to console. It's basically hibernation, but lots of devices don't work reliably when doing so.
"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
Symptomatic of the "always on" generation. Life is *so* hectic and can't be *disconnected* for even a few seconds....life just got easier with frequent restarts or shutdowns.
Don't get me wrong, I never restart my router for example. I update any smart device as soon as I'm notified an update is ready or available. But, I never see the issues most on here seem to.
Words (and actions) to live by.

@SteveJacksonI’m the same and very rarely have issues although I do admit I surround myself with limited tech. But I find less fancy settings being turn to on or auto the better.
I do restart my router and even press the factory reset button from time to time

Factory reset on my router has technical debt because of the non-default options deployed to make the network work optimally.
- ScarDuck142 years agoLegend@SteveJackson Ahh.. Makes sense as I just plug and play so doesn’t cost me anything
Quick follow up Q, that fix you said, have you seen this error code before ?
Cool thank you, I guess if the rest mode fox doesn’t work it last option will be the reset, which would be annoying considering this is a Brand new ps5
- ScarDuck142 years agoLegend@karlc98 Ouch mine is 2 years old. Thousands of hours and like I say only crashed a handful of times.
Yea the last two ps4s I had both had countless crashes on them and only with this game, unbelievable to me tht the issue has carried over

@karlc98That does seem odd…. Is it the same TV? If it is. Try… Go to TV display settings and turn off any settings that has a off, low, med, high, auto and any setting that adjusts the picture in real time. Basically any setting you can turn off. Turn it off.
All TVs have settings that enhance picture… Some of these can interfere with game signal. Setting TV game turns off most but not all settings that can cause latency issuesIt’s a outside chance but it’s worked for me in the past
Yea I’ll gone all this a go when I get back on, thanks again
Pity I won’t actually know if anything has worked until I race😂

Always do this with any TV I buy, then I see the actual quality of the panel I bought. No idea why manufacturers do this. None of them really work.
Must confess to not gaming on a TV, I use a monitor. 144Hz QHD Freesync via DP. I did use a Samsung TV back on earlier F1 games when I had Nvidia GPU. Stutter central, but there's apparently nothing wrong with Nvidia spaghetti.
- ScarDuck142 years agoLegend@SteveJackson Mines a Sony. 120fps. I also access developer mode and then turn off all background processes.
But it is annoying if I just set the tv to game mode and run the game. I’ll be out on track then I go into tv display settings and turn everything off, there’s a noticeable improvement when I go back to game. Generally it’s HDR tone mapping that seems to increase latency - SteveJackson2 years agoHero (Retired)

The 4K OLED in the main room has it. Nice, but not a wow factor. Games already look a little unrealistic, no need for HDR to accentuate the uncanny valley.
