@PPsHairy The cars in 2020 were different cars then this year

Traction doesn't magically change across iterations of cars.

  • I feel as though this is more realistic for this years cars due to the more minimalistic areo on the rear wing and wanting more of the downforce from down effect. because of this there is going to be less pressure on the rear of the car making it easier to spin due to the down force being placed in a different place of the car. the same reason why its easier to lockup without ABS because there isnt as much downforce on the front of the car. i may be wrong but i feel as though this would make sense

  • Really the traction is very sensitive, the reality is certainly not like that, our previous F1 games were already excessively sensitive, I see this as a big flaw, and it has bothered many players, any accelerated car runs easily, even real drivers playing F1 2022 has already said that it is not that sensitive, this is taking away the pleasure of playing, now, on the other hand, the brake is perfect, but the traction is definitely wrong.

Didn't Codemasters say before game went live that they are working on the transmission on the cars and it would not make it for release?

Currently the transmission is essentially instant you put foot down. I believe they were looking at this being delayed (ramps up) as you add more throttle. If so this should help with the rather insane wheel spin out of corners.

you guys do know what dead zone does right? lmao why are you complaining about traction and throttle but shortening your range by 80%? So for the first 80% of pressing the throttle you get nothing then bam last 20% all your throttle motion, dead zones are made for if your not using the botton and it spikes without pushing it you can get rid of that with like 5-10% dead zone so throttle isnt always applying.  Use linearity if you want to get a little help with sensitive throttle and stop cluttering the forums with these useless dumb reports so real bugs can get identified and fixed!

  • Even configuring the linearity and the throttle clearance, does not improve the issue of sensitivity, Lando Norris, has already said that the car's acceleration in the game, does not refer to reality and that in the game the car runs very easily, this needs to be corrected, even pilots who use traction control are complaining.

Well if they listen to all the spin complainers this game will end up like GT7...turn TC on full if you dont wanna spin and be on rails...not everyone has the reflexes or throttle control to run full on no assist, but thats no reason to ruin the game for those that can just so peoples ego dont get hurt cause they need an assist or two. Also some are basing this off the FOM car, it handles like doo doo till its upgraded to where the other team cars are...i feel like RB, Merc, Fer are on rails when i hop in those cars compaired to the FOM car

  • @nike23osu It won't be your offensive and aggressive comments that changed the opinion of other players or mine, I've been playing racing simulators for years, especially formula 1, and I've never used assists, it's not a question of ego because if I need to use assists I use them, I do. I play other games that are much more realistic than formula 1, such as Iracing and Assetto Corsa, it's a matter of referring to reality, we want games to refer to reality, if Lando Norris himself, a real formula 1 driver, said that in reality, it's not that's how it is, you won't be the one to say different, express your opinion without aggression and offenses that she will be respected, express with offenses and she will be ignored.

If what I said as my opinion and right offended you then wow I’d hate to see how you perceive things out in the world cause it was far from offensive.

Everyone brings up Lando, but he is not running the times of max or leclare, I have every sim since gtr1 literally, 2009 account in iracing (since the beginning) but that don’t matter so why bring up other games this is f1 22, the real cars have been struggling for grip all year, Canada, Baku, silver stone…1.30.5 was fast race lap this past weekend and I had to be on it to hit that but was doable…give rails grip and times will be unrealistic. The cars this year are totally different from past years both irl and in sim.

So now we have early access F1 games?

Not only TC is horrible and unrealistic but the programmes are completely unbalanced on My Team.

Was there even a beta testing team?

  • @FreeSoul2 I play in career mode, and it's the same thing, I hope they fix that, we don't want a car that doesn't unlock, because we know that it does, but it can't be that much, there has to be a balance, find a middle ground.

norris plays f1 22…since it’s been thrown around that he says it’s not how the cars drive…I never heard him say that once, but did hear him say “it’s better this year” and even “fighting the car, that’s realistic” just sayin

I really like the handling this year. Sure it was a spin fest in beginning as it is so much different compared to previous year. But after some practise, I find it quite logical. I'm almost on same AI level as earlier (100) and able to manage corner exits without TC.

I hope basics will stay like today, but the promised patch regarding how power output will be handled will make it even better.

@gizt7What will they change with this patch mentioned by you? I have no knowledge of him.

This is a quote from David Greco in another discussion in this forum:

Grip is good as it is, and won't be changed.

An improvement to engine torque and general total torque per gear to allow better throttle application, therefore giving more confidence to the player under acceleration, is coming as soon as possible. But this will be the last tweak to the base handling.
