I can't lose that one, can I? My Fatherland (NED) vs My Motherland (POL)..., so semi-finals it is!

Haha, I did think about you, when I missed out on the group win and saw Netherlands come up against Poland.
I would name Netherlands as the favourites though, having won all three games in the group (apart from simply also having better players).
Poland started with a 3-2 defeat to Germany, followed by a 1-0 defeat to France.
But Czech Republic's 1-0 win vs Germany opened up the group, and then Poland snatched the place as runner-up with a thrilling 4-3 win against the Czechs.
So that's also a reason why Kozlowski is in the Team of the Tournament so far, and Zielinski could have been too, with 1 goal and 2 assists.
Disappointing run by hosts Germany though, crashing out with 1 win and 2 defeats.

Just catching up, great idea on how to fix the EA "glitch" of not moving you through to the final. Fans bad actions punishing the team was creative. I learn more about international games reading your careers every year than I do watching international games (I can't stand them in-season).
Very happy to see Netherlands win. They have been a team close to getting over the hill but always falling short or disappointing so seeing them finally win is nice.

Up the Orange! 🇳🇱
Fun fact: last time Netherlands won EURO, it was also in (West-) Germany.

Thanks man. I agree in regards to Netherlands, they've had so many gifted sides over the years, and one wouldn't really begrudge them, if they also managed to win something for a change. Well, except for the number of examples of Netherlands playing the dirty game a little too often IMO. The 2010 World Cup final, for instance, Netherlands-Portugal four years earlier and of course their match vs Argentina at the World Cup last year. Why are Netherlands so often involved, when games go crazy and the ref loses control? I don't know, but apart from that I've always found them to be a likeable unit, cheeing for them rather than the usual suspects Germany, France, Italy etc., who always win stuff. With this logic I suppose I should cheer for England too, but I'm afraid their entitlement and "it's coming home" has ruined that for me 😉

Ha, that's great, didn't think about that before now. Good find. But that also fits the narrative of hosts or neighbours of hosts often winning it. West Germany won in Switzerland in 1954, Denmark in Sweden 1992 etc.

Unfortunate, missing out on the millions of UEFA Champions League, but that group in UEFA Europa League is doable: second place for sure!

Yes, I believe I have good chances here. Don't know the current level of Standard Liège though, but it should be possible to follow Newcastle through.
The millions is one thing, and I'm not too worried about that, to be honest. I don't want to go crazy anyway and already have a great deal to spend. But I do fear that this will have a negative impact on my manager rating, even if the "Reach the Champions League Quarter Final" is only a MEDIUM objective. The rating did go down to orange after the exit, but is now green again after the signing of Oli Burke. So that's the only concern really.

Celtic clearly are not going to take the challenge lying down. 8 matches, 8 wins.
Interesting to see Aberdeen pushing Rangers for second, Are you sure Sir Alex isn't back managing them? 🙂 🙂🤔 - JustinCase01102 years agoSeasoned Veteran

Aberdeen did also make a serious push in the first season though. After the 33 game regular season, Celtic had 84, Rangers 78, Aberdeen 72, Hearts 66 and then Dundee in 5th with 44. We're seeing a similar pattern now, so it seems the game does propose a challenger for the two Glasgow sides. Except the fact that the green of them does seem a bit unstoppable at the moment.

The Livingston game - it's always quite satisfying when all the goals are by different players... - 2 years ago
Regarding your penalty shootout experience, have a look at this:

It seems you're not the only one.
