About the standard for Manchester United at the moment, I guess (as in; far from impressive').
You're finding it quite easy in the league at the moment...

Yes, I don't concede many goals in the league, so even when I'm struggling scoring myself, as recently vs St. Johnstone, it's just about having the patience and then eventually breaking them down. Having Georginio Rutter also helps, he's been amazing in the league this season.
In regards to Man United, yes, you're right about that. I have also come to a point, just like in any previous FIFA release, where the club's real life struggles sort of pull me into playing a bit with them on the side. Starting with a few low-money signings to fill some gaps and hopefully making them do better. I'm not sure if I'll post anything about it or not. We'll see, once I get into it. If it becomes too easy too fast, I probably won't. But if I struggle, once the games begin, I might look into it. But on the other hand I also still feel this Rangers save has more to offer...

Bossing the league this year. You've got the measure of Celtic again. 37-6 in goals is really quite amazing.
Interesting situation in the CL group, too. Few people would have Rangers going toe to toe with the two big beasts. Very exciting. - JustinCase01102 years agoSeasoned Ace

Very exciting.Bossing Celtic, yes, the major difference between this season and the one before. Reclaiming the upper hand in the derbies is certainly a must, if one wants to win the title again. These two clubs really don't drop a lot of points to the other clubs in the league.
The Champions League group is very exciting, yes. Perhaps I'll be able to snub one of them for a place in the playoff. And if not, then I'll just have to make do with a Europa League place. Again. We'll see where it ends. The Europa League angle could also be interesting after back to back semi final defeats there.

- 2 years ago@JustinCase0110 7-1, 5-0. It really is quite straightforward in the Scottish Prem. Still, the Champions League is looking quite exciting.

I had the idea that I would need to be "too good" for the Scottish prem in order to compete at the highest European level. And I've been on top of the Premiership for several seasons now, along with Celtic of course. It's not always this easy though. The 7-1 win was followed by a difficult game in Aberdeen, and it was also difficult at Hibernian after the 5-0 win vs Hearts. Perhaps the big wins makes me a bit too comfortable, so my performance level drops in the subsequent game. Or maybe the game is trying to level it out somehow, I don't know.
But yes, I'm really enjoying this European campaign, very thrilling.

Had a feeling the group stage would turn out like that. Who have you got in the round of 16?
Average of 3 goals per game in the league. Very satisfying. - JustinCase01102 years agoSeasoned Ace

OUCH! Bit like my Plymouth career...Yes, very similar indeed. Apart from me being a runner-up and being more likely to face a hard opponent.

I'll be honest I haven't had time to go back over the large amounts of missed. Headed back to the previous transfer window to see what changes you had going on and seems to have been a few changes. A kinda realistic trend for a Scottish side, once a player starts to stand out they'll likely be easily tempted away around Europe
Still, 8 points clear of rivals Celtic and undefeated plus knock out stages of Champions League all be it very challenging.

Thanks, and don't worry about it. Approaching 2028 now, I know it's a big ask to get through it all. But I'll always welcome anyone jumping on this train, also when you haven't been around for all the stops along the way...
The main difference from last seasons to this one is the fact that I finally made it through to the last 16 in the Champions League this time. Previous seasons I always came in third, qualifying for the Europa League, where I played consecutive semi finals.

Good price for Adams, given the circumstances. And with Rutter in such good form, probably not as big a loss as it could have been in previous years...unless Rutter gets injured, of course.
It's going to take a massive collapse not to win the Premiership now, so a focus on the CL is probably a safe bet. - JustinCase01102 years agoSeasoned Ace

It's going to take a massive collapse not to win the Premiership now, so a focus on the CL is probably a safe bet. You're right, Rutter has been in fine form this season. I've primarily used him as a LF though, with Adams and Parrott being the main guys in the ST role. So a part of me wants to keep him there, not "fixing" something that works quite well with a goal per game in the league. But that is also the position, where I use Marquinhos, who hasn't played much in the league, but has been banging them in in the Champions League, being the current top scorer there. So perhaps I should still consider using Rutter more centrally, allowing Marquinhos to have more starts in the LF position. Something to consider in the months to come...

Just caught up through the last 5 pages or so. Amazing result against Bayern, one of those games fans will always remember where they were when they watched.
I really like the transfer business. Selling the hot player at his peak price and bringing in upcoming talent. Troy Parrott is a good fit and can hopefully bring more goals.
I do worry they Rutter will not be there much longer. If he finishes the season strong, a big club will be coming.
