Thanks, @CO88LER5 and @thurlow885.
I agree, often the players suggested in swap deals are someone I would never even concider. And this time he actually looks quite promising.
I think I'll go with the swap then. It's also fun to end up with other players than I originally planned to target.
I'd think of it as a bit like when United bought Cantona from Leeds. That started as an enquiry from Leeds for a United player(can't remember who). Fergue said "no" but asked about Cantona, and the deal was done. A totally unplanned deal.

That was Dennis Irwin if I remember correctly.
Not often I agree in the term A Player is the difference maker, but back then Cantona sure was and someone like Fergie was able to tame him a bit better than Howard Wilkinson was. Leeds fans were furious for letting him go especially to United, but truth be known he was going anyways

As far as I know, Fergie went for Alan Shearer, who chose to join Blackburn in stead. So he must have been on the market for a striker at the time.

Haha, if they wanted a Man United player, I suppose they shouldn't have asked for the gaffer's favourite. I agree with the "difference maker" though. Cantona at Man United and Ronaldinho at Barcelona. I can't think of anyone more worthy of that term than these two.

Beating Spurs then losing to Wolves sounds like the story of your season. Wins were expected against the lower league opposition even if rotated team but progress in the cup is still good. Fighting for a Trophy is still to be expected. Bit of a gap for Top 6, but plenty of points to play for.
I also think you've come out with the better end of the deal regardless Eriksen which is unusual for Man United these days.

Perhaps Wolves are turning out to be my bogey team in this save. They beat med 3-1 in the season opener with the same two guys scoring there. I've now decided to scout them both. If I can't beat them, maybe I can buy them in stead. But yes, beating Spurs and losing to them certainly is the story of this season. And - I suppose - the story of Man United IRL for the past 10 years.

That is something I often do when I play against someone and they cause me issues.. I remember my first season can't remember who, but I couldn't score keeper stopped everything. Was very disappointed tho to find out they were 36 , but it's something I've often done in the past

- Progress still seems slowly but surely and quite possibly sneak into top 6 maybe soon. Not far behind 5th either, altho tough game coming up against Rivals City

Yes, a few good results and I might climb a bit further in the table. I need something new to improve though. My offence doesn't 'click' and goals are too hard to find at times. And I lose far too many games. But hey, I also did the clearout to prevent it from being too easy. We'll see what happens in the summer.

Good Cup run even if are making hard work of lower opposition. While there still plenty of games remaining The FA Cup or Conference League could well be best shot at making it.into Europe next season.
Not a terrible run in the league all things considered and must have been frustrating against City. A loss may have been anticipated, but at the depth makes it that much harder to take

Yes, that was a frustrating one. I also hope to avoid the Citizens winning the title, secretly hoping that Arsenal will take it... or even Liverpool (though it's hard to admit)... So that was a game I would have wanted more from, especially being a goal up at the interval.
I agree that the FA Cup and the Conference League are my best title hopes, and my most likely way into Europe next season. I actually wasn't aware that a Conference League title gave you access to the Europa League, but it seems that it does, so I do have two shots at it, if I fail to climb the league.

I can feel the pain coming through the text as you say or Liverpool šš
As for Conference League I think UEFA had to add that little incentive cause I couldn't see anyone putting in the effort to win a new European tournament no one asked for if it didn't progress them

Great run of matches and into the top 6 with a game in hand in the league, a cup final and potentially another one being lined up.
For what started out as quite a slow season could be ending quite successfully. Still gotta win the matches tho and plenty to work on going forward.

Yes, I could end the season with two titles. It's been some easy paths though, not facing ANY Premier League sides on my way to the FA Cup final, whilst the Conference League has also been straightforward with 12 wins in 12 games. But hey, a title is a title, and I'll take it.
You're right that there's still plenty to work on. I still have 20 points up to the league leaders, and obviously it's the main goal to close that gap eventually.
EDIT: Sorry, Conference League form at this point is 10 wins in 10 games. I accidentally included the semi final results in the count š

Heard a rumour that some player named Zorgane could be making his way, maybe could be the missing piece šš
