Cant load new season, game crashes almost instantly!

After finishing season 2 of my career mode, I advanced into season 3, then tried to hit squad hub, and the game crashed instanly. 

After restarting and advancing again the same issue occurred, this happened several times, the game also sometimes crashed before i even started loading the save file.

Further information: 

Sometimes if I manage to enter the save file, it puts me back just before advancing to s3, yet still shows the next game as community shield. Which makes me wonder if its confused which season its in.  

It also varies whether i get my scout reports on the first of the month or not. Idk if having them come back on the same day as a new season breaks the game.

Please fix EA and ay solutions would be appreciated
