CMS General Discussion Thread

I have not played in a while but for the first time ever I just got the beta code to play the new game. I might try it out tonight. 

25 forum is carnage right now. Has anyone watched the Career Mode Deep Dive? Haven't seen much reaction from it. Wasn't really anything in there we didn't already know

I watched a Career Mode video the other day, but I don't recall whether it was the Deep Dive or not. Regardless, I think I'm pretty up to date about the news about Career Mode so far, now just looking ahead to the release of the game.

Anyone with early plans for Career Mode in FC25? 

I have been playing the beta a little bit. My wife is due with our third child any day now so that has taken all of my video game time the last few months but the beta has been nice. 

Career mode has some nice features. I like the youth cups. 7 on 7 mini game with all youth players. It is a nice twist. 

Turning off or turning down board expectations is nice. I like the idea of playing a realistic Spurs career and not having to sign players from a certain country. 

I simulated the first transfer window. No crazy signings stood out which was nice. Kimmich to Arsenal was the biggest deal and that is not crazy to imagine happening. 

I probably won't do too much else with the beta since I like playing a CM for real and not just testing but if there are any ratings, faces or anything people want to see please let me know.

Thanks mate! I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to share these things though. Not trying to be forum police or anything, just don't want you to get in trouble or lose the access you've been granted. 

But if it's all the same, then I'm always a sucker for information about new player faces. That's always something I'm very curious about with the release of a new game.

Good to know. I will look into it before sharing anything but I would think if I'm being positive and sharing the new, good updates then they would appreciate it. But I will check it out.

Not sure. I think they are also interested in keeping some secrets until release.

If that is legit, it seems a lot of new faces will appear in the French and German league. Good news, except I had actually set my mind on starting in Italy this time, haha... I might change my plans and play in France or Germany in stead.

Haven't fully decided yet. I'm looking forward to which leagues will have the live starts I'm hoping English Lower Leagues have them as I look forward to the possibility of taking over at a real life relegation battle or struggling mid table form for team under achieving at some point and going from there so a lot depends on how teams perform as to who my main career will be. I think to begin with I might try out a Journeyman Career. Might even start off at a women's team for the first season just to see what kind of jobs it can land me afterwards

Haha, the women's crossover is an interesting way to start. I might consider that myself at some point. I've always said that I had no interest in the women's teams since you couldn't play with them in Career Mode. Now that it's possible, I should perhaps try it at some point, just to avoid being a hypocrite. However, it won't be the first thing I do.

I believe the live starting points will be something that is added along the way. So it's probably not something we can look for in the first weeks after release. But sometime in December, January and so forth, then it will surely come in handy. I read somewhere that it's restricted to some leagues or countries. I'm pretty sure England will be one of them, but knowing EA I could easily see it being restricted to the Premier League only. And perhaps Ligue 1, Bundesliga and La Liga as well. I don't really expect more than that, to be honest.

I will test it out but the live start setting you select at the beginning before even picking a team so I'm not sure how it can be restricted. But I'll check tonight. 

I looked, sharing basic details like that is ok it looks like. 

Will this be the forum for FC25 too? Or will it be moved.

Pretty sure there'll be a new forum for FC25. But last year they only created the forum section around the release date, so I assume we'll just use this forum to discuss FC25 Career Mode stuff, and then we can made a new thread, once the Career Mode and Career Mode Stories forum sections are up somewhere around release.

I know they did for FIFA but for FC I was not sure if they would just keep the same forum. I was thinking of starting a thread in the next week or so and just posting "preseason" type things to setup that CM. No beta pictures or anything like that. Just my graphics.

Nice. You should probably post in here in FC24 forum then. Perhaps having someone move it to FC25 forum, once that is up. But I would definitely appreciate a bit of "preseason" stuff to add to the hype until release. Curious what you intend to do with this...

My first career is going to be with Spurs. Might be boring to some since it is a bigger club but without board expectations, I can finally run a realistic one in terms of finances and building. 

The squad is so young, it will take a few seasons to build it up to a title contender. Some dead weight to try moving, position battles to play and a few future signings still needed.

I totally get that. With Man United as the club, I follow the closest in terms of transfer news, rumours etc., they are also the club I'm looking forward to play with the most. I'll probably try to "force" myself to start with another club though, as I find the route from start to success to be too short, whenever I start with such a big club. And I've just done a Man United save in FC24 too.

I get what you mean with "boring to some". But one can play with the same club several times and do it in new ways each time. Or one can try several different clubs but always go with the same approach and sign the same players again and again. In the end you should only do a CM story for yourself and not for an audience that is sometimes non-existent.

To quote Quentin Tarantino: "I love my movies. I make them for myself. Everyone else is invited, but I'm making them for me." Obviously there's not much comparison between CM stories and QT movies, but the point stands. If one writes them and expects many to read them and provide feedback, one will just end up disappointed.

That's a good point. I have done a few Spurs ones but usually lost interest when I had to "sign 3 players from America" or "Win the FA Cup or Premier League" type objectives made it difficult to build the club like I wanted.

This one I am looking to do as an insider with the club. Using Ange, Levy, scouting directors, youth coaches, etc to build a world around the club until we win trophies.

I did a Emma Hayes season, only offers were from other women's leagues.

The transfer embargo was only for the top leagues as far as I could tell as well.

I think people are going to love the new career additions. Board expectations were the same type (youth development, win FA Cup, raise X profit) but the ability to make them less difficult or remove them completely is nice.

Youth cups are fun, a great way to play with youth players before bringing them into the first team. I also find the 7 on 7 to be really fun.

Apparently Ashton Gate the home of Bristol City is gonna be in the game, this could sway me into a Bristol City Career, usually enjoy doing one plus being my local team.. Ewood Park being added as well I've read, would've been nice last year when did Blackburn career, but good we seem to be getting a kot more stadiums these days

Agreed, I think there has been a few German, Italian and Spanish 2nd division grounds added I'm not 100% sure, possibly sides who been missing from game for couple years because they were relegated or something. Also pretty sure I saw something about a Portuguese one, I think Sporting

Nice! Sporting isn't the biggest surprise with Benfica and FC Porto also having their stadiums added recently. FC Basel and the two in Serie A surprise me though. Positively, needless to say.
