I’m making a career mode spreadsheet to track scouted players, monthly stats, match results, transfers, trophies and more. For example, if you input the score of a match, the “Result” column shows win, draw or loss. When i’m done, should I update you with it and send it to you?
Yeah, thanks mate. You are welcome to send it to my inbox here, then I'll have a look at it.

Good to see youngsters promoted, although he does look a bit older than 17! - JustinCase011010 months agoSeasoned Veteran

Haha, when I look at 17 year olds today, I tend to agree with you. But I rocked that very same goatee at 17 myself, so I didn't pay it too much mind with this fellow 😃
Most of my academy players so far are 15 year olds with quite a way to go, before they're ready to step up.
This fellow is actually an 'exciting prospect', meaning that he has a potential above 86. Usually I like to provide regular game time to youngsters to avoid a drop in potential. But this time I think it will be okay with a reserve role and subsequent drop in potential - otherwise I don't think I'll be able to afford him much longer.

Good result against West Ham, showing that the team is developing. As a matter of interest, have you appointed many coaches? I have done in the Colchester save (and have on the others, like Plymouth this year) and it does seem to improve the team quite well; a development of the game that EA seems to have coded quite well, for this version.
This Bailey chap seems to be taking his chance with both hands - I like it when that happens.

I've just appointed one coach for each line - GK, DEF, MID, ATT. I know there's probably something to gain from appointing more, but I don't have much to spend right now.
Besides, I'm also cautious developing players too much or too quickly. Some years ago I played with Brøndby, when the dynamic potential was just introduced. And a few of my younger players would have their potentials grow in crazy numbers, getting bought for €100m or something like that. One had even become so expensive that no team seemed able to approach him, ha.
So I think I prefer a slow development and probably won't sign any more coaches, even when I get my hands on more cash to spend.

Tough luck at Barnsley; taking the lead and then seeing Andy Cole's son hit a hat-trick.
I had him in one of my careers a long time ago, when he was a youngster. I did wonder where he was, these days...
Good wins against Doncaster and the Orient, too.
It's measuring up to be quite a successful season, being amongst the expected "best of the rest" in a division with such big beasts in it. Possibly might even get into the playoffs, which would be remarkable.
You even have a positive goal difference, which is more than United have managed so far this season...

Haha, yes I thought there was some kind of poetic justice with that hattrick hero against my team being located so close to Manchester. Also didn't know anything about his whereabouts, before he shut me down there.
Successful season in deed, also still in the BSM Trophy and the FA Cup at this point.

Strong result against Liverpool, conceding only a few shots.
Finally climbed into the playoffs, which is quite the achievement in this league, with the teams in it. Should it end that way, it will be a very successful season indeed.

Yes, a successful season in deed. And yeah, I was quite happy with the Liverpool game, at times controlling the game and passing it well out from the back. For a while I really thought I could take them, as their initial pressure seemed to not work out for them properly. Well, until it did and they scored the goal. Anyway, I had achieved the board objective by getting there, so I thought it was a good way to end the run, going out against one of the best.

Good result vs Brentford indeed. It seems the QPR result was a bit controversial.
The surprise is how the Stanley managed to get a draw. I wasn't expecting that, especially at Edgeley Park.
Looking less likely to make the playoffs, now, bearing in mind the 4-point gap with a game in hand, but I'm sure you'll continue to make the attempt. - JustinCase011010 months agoSeasoned Veteran

The Stanley result was frustrating, especially on the back of the QPR game where I hit the post four times. It could very well be these two games that will end up costing the playoff spot. I will still continue to try to make it, of course.

Tough run of results means you're going to be lucky to make the playoffs. With the kind of teams you have in there, it's not so surprising, I guess. You're still very much the 'best of the rest'. It'll be interesting to see which teams come down to League 2 at the end of the season. It will certainly make the division more equal.
Strong defensive performance against Chelsea, though. - JustinCase011010 months agoSeasoned Veteran

Strong defensive performance against Chelsea, though.Yes, my little reorganization of all the teams has made it quite interesting how things will turn out across the four league tiers. Perhaps it will go down as expected, or maybe there'll be a surprise or two. I might post the four league tables, once the season is wrapped up soon.

Good result against Palace.
I'm intrigued that the player wants to move from Monaco to a league 2 club; in my save, most such players would be 'unwilling to move', so that's an interesting one... I can't even get players at that level (with a top division club) even willing to come on loan, which is weird because other clubs in league 2 have such players. - 10 months ago@JustinCase0110
8th place. So close... Good result against Charlton, which must have been satisfying.
Next season will be easier, with some of the big clubs gone from the division. - Danimal598110 months agoSeasoned Ace
I understand the division into counties, but out of the four Stockport was (and unfortunately will remain) in the lowest division?
- 10 months ago@Danimal5981
I think that, as the big clubs move back up the divisions (as they will) the smaller clubs will drop back down, which is when Stockport will get more chances. Could even be next season, That's what makes this story interesting for me... - JustinCase011010 months agoSeasoned Veteran

I'm not sure though. Anyway, a more frequently common way to sign players these days, starting with a loan deal, then making it permanent later on, if succesful.
