Cross, Cross, Cross, Cross, Cross...

I broadly agree with you, but for me playing against skill move spammers is worse. It's more annoying, much more unrealistic, and too hard to defend against.

At least long ball or get it in the mixer style philosophy is actually a real thing in football and most lower quality teams do actually play that way.

Nobody in real football does a croqueta cancel into a running ball juggle leading into a rainbow flick then a dipping scissor kick from 18 yards. That's just goofy.

I'd also suggest the cross spamming is more on Pro Clubs (and probably co op) than single player modes because your 2nd team mate is making the striker run while you cross, which doesn't happen in one player as the AI runs are horrible.

I do use crosses a lot myself, but I don't exclusively spam it and yes playing against wingbashers is very annoying. In higher divs you really need 1 human at CB at least so they csn deal with far post crosses.

I'd only support crosses being underpowered if dribbling was also underpowered.

Totally agree. Most teams we meet in Clubs just have a very tall forward with Aerial and header  playstyles. The wingers have whipped cross. It just locks on to the forward ST in box.

I play this game for 4 weeks now and totally turned into a crossing game. Ive seen the most insane goals with crosses from impossible places.

Thats why its very difficult to stop off. The ball will just go to the tall player from where ever the winger gets a cross.

Please EA tune down the crossing. Its way OP!

Ran into this last night, we needed 5 out of 5 wins to promote to Elite division. On the last game, we were winning 3-1 with about 20 minutes to go, our opponents put on constant pressure and  just started spamming crosses. Nothing we could do to stop them, once the cross is in the air, our AI and player controlled defenders just miss the ball, EVERY SINGLE TIME. We ended up with a tie as they score 2 minutes into extra time from a cross from about 50 yards away into a bicycle kick from outside the box. SO fricking annoying to lose this way.

Another game last night,got matched against the same team 3 times in a row. Small striker with all crossing abilities and 2 giants playing striker. The small player would just run to the corner and through up prayers to the big guys all game long. We stopped is a few times but we still gave up 4 goals or more.

I just don't understand how this is fun, I can see if the situation calls for this type of play, fine. But when they have a clear 1 on 1, they just run to the wing, sometimes not even facing the goal the cross it in. Our defenders just move out of the way so its an easy header goal.

There has to be something EA can do to fix this.

I don't know if you know but tou can do some things to stop wing bashers:

1.  Tell your captian to Double tap, then on the second tap hold in RB or R1 to make your ai defenders mark up far post when the enemy is about to cross.

Your team captain should always be the guy who is the best at this and at GK movement.

2. When they're about to cross, double tap Y to make the GK move to his 6 yard line,  where he can catch the cross from.

Note that this has been nerfed since fifa 23 and is risky. Again your Captain should be good at knowing knowing to do it.

3. When defending corners, click in and hold in the Right Stick, then move it to move your GK. You usually want GK standing on the 6 yard line and he'll catch most crosses.

4. If I was winning 3-1 in a must win game on 75 minutes I'd have my entire team back defending and specifically get my tallest player back marking far post crosses against wing bashers, no matter what his starting position was , even if he was a ST (I'd move him back there on the pause menu if i was captain and make him the middle CB of a back 5 and get 2 other humans out wide cutting crosses out at the source)

I don't mean to patronise but you didn't say if you know or did any of this. Wing bashers are unfortunately a regular thing on fc 24 so you need to know how to counter them.
