A brief catch up of my Blackburn Career. I have been playing along sporadically and have just begun a new season.
My last update had us top of the league and cruising after 10 games. This form contained right up to December before things started slowing down. A bad run and by the end of January Blackburn were 5 points behind then leaders Sheffield United. This begun a 2 month leap frogging contest between the 2 sides.
January saw some reinforcements brought in. Some extra help in a wide position with Tahith Chong joining and Yan Couto from Manchester City. The young Brazilian was quickly converted into a RWB as currently that is how he was seen best to fit in and play as.
A big deciding factor in the season was the 1st Vs 2nd match at Brammal Lane where Blackburn thrashed Sheffield United on their own turf and leap frogging for the last time. Blackburn raced off and not just won promotion, but took the Title convincingly while The Blades just about kept hold of 2nd place. Crystal Palace followed up by winning The Playoffs.
A rather frustrating end finishing on both 99 goals and 99 points 😜
The first half of the season showed a lot of promise for Striker Niall Ennis who my Christmas was on 20 goals. The 2nd half of the season saw him struggling with fatigue and whilst he was in on the action creating goals only managed to add 5 more to his tally for the season. He had shushed the critics early on, but the Blackburn faithful are hoping the board are funding a new Striker for The Premier League.
Unfortunately it wasn't a fantastic season for all the new signings either. Chris Willock and Jake Clarke-Salter who both arrived from Relegated QPR did not have the greatest impacts and maybe showed why QPR struggled in the Championship previous season, especially Clarke-Salter. He potentially cost Blackburn going any further in The FA Cup, holding their own against Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur Clarke-Salter got himself a red card after a reckless challenge with 10 minutes to go before Penalties and then Spurs grabbed a winner in injury time.
Despite only joining in January Tahith Chong has had a slow start, has shown glimpses of promise tho so maybe with more time he'll become a successful signing. Meanwhile Couto has shown promise sharing The RB role with Callum Britain. Jamie Shackleton has had a fantastic loan season and there are hopes of resigning him especially with his parent club Leeds United getting relegated again. John Swift had a slow start but a much better 2nd half and bagging 20 goals himself in all competitions.
Overall a very successful season and a much deserved return to The Premier League.
Good work on the promotion. Chong is an interesting player. In real life, now at Luton. I think he has a lot to learn still.
It'll be interesting to see what happens from here.

It'll be interesting to see what happens from here.Just had a lot going on and couldn't find time and started playing something that didn't need as much commitment. Chong is a player I've had my eye on irl for a while, I feel like he could become a top player, just not 100% sure
