I think you'll find that, if you don't meet the domestic cup objective, you get fired.
This has been an issue for at least the previous two versions (22 and 23) of the game.
In Fifa 23 last year, I missed the domestic cup objective and only just survived by meeting every other objective - in fact, exceeding some of them.
The setting of unrealistic objectives is also a carry over from the previous two versions. I have been told to make a profit of £175 million as a third-tier team in the past...
The only way around it is to make sure you really do meet that domestic cup objective, even if it means cheating in the game.
