I'm facing an issue in my managerial career. Earlier in the season, I signed some players to one-year contracts, but now that we're halfway through the season, I want to extend their contracts. However, when I attempt to negotiate new contracts, the game indicates that I've already negotiated a new contract previously, which is absolutely not the case.
This raises a couple of questions: What is the solution to this problem? And are there others experiencing the same issue in the game? It seems like I'm not the only one grappling with this frustrating problem.
I would appreciate advice or insights from fellow players on how they've dealt with this problem and if there's a known solution to overcome this obstacle in my managerial career. It's crucial to resolve this so I can continue successfully managing my team and achieving my goals in the game.

what I tend to do is wait until halfway into the season, usually if the player is over 23yo and out of contract within 6m they become eligible to talk to other teams, instead of offering a 1yr contract at the start of the CM wait until say the final week of November? if you negotiate a new contract at the final week of November and add +1 or +2 years this retains the player, the issue in the first place is that you're renegotiating those contracts too early.
In some cases especially the older players who are declining and thinking about retirements you will find it hard to get them to negotiate longer than +1 years however if you really really want to keep them, you can either let the game play until final week of November and negotiate a new 1yr deal OR if you begin CM make a dummy save file first and try to negotiate a 2yr contract with them not 1yr, if they don't accept the contract length longer than 1 yrs because of their age then it is best to wait until mid or late November, I hope I explained this properly.
