New Pro Clubs System is Awful
After getting promoted to Elite last night I made a post saying how disappointed I was that there was nothing to play for in Elite. I was expecting the title to be up for grabs, 23 points in 10 matches but no. They expect Volta coin rewards to be the reason we play matches? Are you kidding me?
NHL has playoffs in EASHL and it’s unquestionably terrible. No meaningful games until the playoffs? At least EASHL still has the league system. Also, the idea of the title always being available to be played is fantastic. There’s a chance you and your mates just won’t want to play during playoffs.
We can’t do cup runs anymore, there’s no life or death in any matches getting to Elite because there’s no relegation and it’s a simple points accumulation. This was not thought out whatsoever.
Resetting every 6 weeks just to get promoted again is the illusion of progression and being halted at Elite. I genuinely don’t understand it.
the 10 division system was honestly perfect. Now there’s an inflated grind to raise AI overall, which in fact is not designed to play with 90 overall pros. Normally by the time you hit cap your computer would be 88 overall.
I don’t care about rewards or this playoffs, I want to play meaningful matches every time I get on and that’s so far from the case currently. There’s zero stakes. The devs didn’t think at all about Elite division and didn’t think at all about how not having relegation and a div 1 title to chase kills replay ability.
Also the promotion series is beyond stupid. Football is about points and not winning and losing. They have effectively made the art of the draw irrelevant. Promotion should be a certain amount of points in 5 matches. But even then it feels bad. There’s no excitement in promotion series because it sends you back 9 points and getting promoted doesn’t mean much. No trophy to play for, no get 23 points in 10 matches to push you. It’s terrible in every way and we’re probably not getting any changes until next game. It’s shockingly terrible these design choices. Please developers, add the div 1 title back in and put in promotion and relegation. Let us play meaningful matches every day instead of every 6 weeks for a week, a week people can be away, don’t want to play, or simply can’t play. Let the community set up these leagues but you guys should be providing us with the best system in match to match gameplay. The old system is miles better at accomplishing this and I’ve done it for 10 years with my friends. After playing this change and hitting top division, it’s a disaster on every front.
