Ronaldo Vieira was a fan favourite here at Leeds and we were gutted when he left. Fun fact his parents really liked football and his Twin brother (not so successful career but was also in Leeds Academy) is Romario Vieira. Both named after a couple of their favourite Brazilian players. And to keep the Leeds connections Sampdoria owner just sold us 🤣
Liking the approach with the story interesting how this develops

Yes I read about the Leeds owners buying Sampdoria last year, apparently saving them from bankruptcy. They're still struggling hard IRL though, currently in the Serie B relegation zone, I see. So I do expect this one to turn out a bit better than their real life situation...
Haha, never heard of Romario Vieira, but it's not hard to see from where they got their inspiration. Any other siblings, you're familiar with? Rivaldo Vieira? Ronaldinho Vieira?
Thanks, I'm just playing through the first 6 months to see which transfers I'm going to pursue in January. Haven't planned much ahead, so I'll just go and see where this takes me. Also, I'm usually not into writing these game-by-game updates myself. Now I've started this way, trying it out one more time, but I do suspect that I could transition out of it at some point later on.

The first one! @JustinCase0110 nice; anything I need to be aware of, before starting a story myself (cropping, resolution etc.)
Would it now be possible to separate Career Mode [Remarks] from Career Mode [Stories] as two single threads? (Don't know whom to tag in order to ask)
Personally, I'm not very interested in all those complaints, but I respect these stories and I loved doing them myself, back on the FIFA formus.

I was inclined to answer you with what I found was the easiest way to upload images etc., but I see you've already posted your own story now, so no reason for that, I reckon.
Already getting difficult to find these CM Stories among all the complaints here, really highlights the need for a separate CMS section.

Agreed! And the fact that everything is limited to a width of 680 pixels doesn't give much spaces to work with.
But we'll make do with what there is: you get Samp back in Serie A, I'll try and get Ajax back in Champions League...

Great club to pick. I watched them a little last season with Winks there and you can tell a lot of work is needed. I like the format and the player POV. Creative idea!

Thanks man! Kind of a mix between Player Career and Manager Career, I reckon. Just trying a different approach with the writeups to avoid these careers becoming too similar. After all, my two careers in FIFA23 were HSV (started in 2.BuLi) and Sunderland (Championship), so I can't deny that my casting of clubs to play with has followed a certain pattern lately 😄😄

8 points from 6 matches - sounds like mid-table to me. I don't expect anybody to have maintained full points by now, but surely you must be 2 victories down on the league leaders?...

Yes, well, maybe... It's been a bumby start, so I haven't paid too much mind to how the other clubs have performed. I'll make a league table after the first 10 games, showing where I stand compared to the rest of them.
Mid-table could very well be the case for me though. I'm in no rush to go up, except I have this board objective to do so. But I would prefer having another season in Serie B, moulding a more competitive side to climb up (and stay up), once the time is right. There is an interesting promotion playoff though. Apparently top 2 is promoted automatically, then 3 and 4 enter the Promotion semi finals, whilst numbers 5 to 8 enter a Playoffs too, with the winners of these games facing 3 and 4 in said semi finals. So, in the end, only a top 8 position is needed for the promotion to be possible.

I agree with you, staying down another season is best for the club in a competitive point of view. But financially going up makes the most sense so that is what the board wants.
The playoff is interesting. That takes pressure off you to finish at the top. Finish top 8 and you still have a good chance to go up. I can see why so clubs are relegated in their first season though. Earning promotion when not in the top 2 is really setting you up for a difficult next season.

I agree. And I'm not a fan of this. It really devaluates the season, when a 3rd place and an 8th place are given more or less the same opportunities in the end. I think it's too much, and as you say, you are set up to fail in Serie A, if you couldn't even make it to the top of Serie B over the course of a season.

It's all done to give more teams something to play for (or against)
Personally, I am in favor of UEFA standardizing every top league of every associate member country. I would put a top tier division at 16 teams (30 games), which would cause the players to have more time for rest and recovery. It would also standardize rules for qualifying for European football, or the fight against relegation. And with smaller leagues, fewer teams will be safe until one or two games before the end. It would also increase the value of a lower division, which in that case would justify a form of play-offs: behind the top 2 (which get instant promotion), four teams battle for a final against the top division's #14. It would kill several birds with one stone.
But I digress, for the story it would actually be nice to see you make the oversized step from (say) 8th in Serie B back to Serie A - that would be a serious struggle, instead of the 'up and upper' type stories, career mode usually turns out to be.

I understand your position, but I don't think it makes much sense to make the same standard for England and Spain as for Denmark and Sweden, for instance. In Denmark we have tried with 16, but it just invited some clubs, who didn't possess the necessary quality level. Right now, even with only 12 clubs, we still have Hvidovre promoted, even though neither their squad nor their stadium matches the quality required.
Countries like Denmark, Belgium and Scotland have all - to my knowledge - surrendered to a top half and bottom half playoff starting a little over halfway through the season. And even though the format isn't perfect, it does make sure that most have something to play for, whilst both the title and the relegation is decided while playing equals. No City winning due to them playing QPR on the final day, for instance.
When something works in a national competition, I would really hate if UEFA had the right and intent to go in and change it from afar.

Then I'll rephrase: up to 16 teams...
