@chadito32, I thought out of nowhere the update could be resolved in the major Spring Update that was released recently. After checking the Patch Notes, every part of the game got numerous updates and fixes to it, however yet again Career Mode doesn't get any fixes to it.
I very much believe now this issue will be resolved in the next edition of the game.
I've tried to think of potential reasons as to the lack of Career Mode updates this season. The first being potentially due to budget reasons, after EA making wholesale changes to the mode or prioritising the budget for more popular selling points i.e Ultimate Team. Another possible reason for the lack of attention could also be due to Career Mode Developers actually spending time on next years edition, instead of this edition. Another reason could be that this issue could be on a whole list of issues to the mode, and they're addressing those that have been reported first, and not necessarily those that are the most troubling.
I don't believe the idea that the EA don't care about the mode, as there's a dedicated Career Mode Team who have fixing issues since launch. This makes me believe that the third reason I mentioned is the most likely reason as to why the issue hasn't been resolved yet. We do know from what they've said to me is "They've been able to identify the cause of the issue, they're investigating it and are looking for it to be resolved."
With them looking for a resolution still, this could suggest the second reason also being true, as now they're probably at the window where most of their resources are aimed at finishing off the next edition ready for its release. This 'Spring Update' is probably the last major update for this game, if they could've fixed the issue for this game, it would've most likely have been resolved by now.
For those affected by the issue and can't renew their contract, the only option I would suggest is to restart your career and make sure you achieve all your objectives. At least this way you can still player your career, and you'll most likely get the option to renew as you've achieved all your objectives.
It's a shame this issue isn't probably going to be resolved in this edition, as it's consistently been the most reported issue for the mode since launch, and yet no resolution nor update as promised previously has been given.
I personally will not be getting the next edition of the game, until I see for myself that the issue has been resolved.
