Conceding a header from a corner? I find that happens so often against me in EAFC24. It seems there's not much I can do to stop it. I've tried everything, but the opposition simply score far too often, compared to real life.
On the other hand, I haven't managed to score a single goal from a headed corner at the other end. I think it's a quirk of the programming.
It seems Feyenoord have the advantage back...

I do this all the time, actually. Connor Goldson scored 6 in one season, and I've seen headed goals from corners from Souttar, McKenna and Lingr as well. I don't know if they are particularly good headers, or James Tavernier are just a particularly good passer from the corner. But these goals have come quite frequently for me in my current save with Rangers.

Would have liked to see that Bergwijn equalizer. And what a time to do it, rather than scoring a beauty as the 4th in a game that was already won. Good home result, let's hope for a good performance in Germany, or, if anything goes to plan, two of those.
Impressive results in the league, especially the 5-2 win in Eindhoven, even leading 5-1 along the way. Brilliant. Too bad Feyenoord have managed to stay on top, though not storywise, where there's tension to the very end. Gotta be an interesting final day.

So close, yet still not enough with Feyenoord getting it over the line. Your players dominate individually though, most clean sheets, most assists and most goals. It's especially impressive for Brobbey to score in the final league game. From what I can see, he wasn't even on the pitch, haha. Kind of like Cristiano claiming a world cup goal without even touching the ball. 😉

Pretty good season for Ajax in the end, bearing in mind the start.
Are you going to continue this into another season? - Danimal59812 years agoSeasoned Ace

Often the way...
It seems like a happy ending for Ajax fans. It'll be interesting to see what you do with next season - a straightforward stroll to the title, or introduce some other kind of turmoil-causing event... - Danimal59812 years agoSeasoned Ace

Congratulations on the Conference League! Great achievement being the first club to win all three + CWC and the others you listed. Brilliant. Glad to see you avoid penalties too, contrary to the two other European finals. How ironic would it have been to win the shootout, and then the game registered it as a defeat, as it did in the first season of my save.
I see that you consider starting a new adventure somewhere else. I'm intrigued to find out whether that's for now, or if you'll continue this one a bit further. You didn't win the league, mind you 😉

Denmark paired with France... AGAIN!
Denmark's record in Euros and World Cups (except 1964, where only 4 teams qualified):
1984: In a Group with France.
1986: Not in France's Group.
1988: Not in France's Group.
1992: In a Group with France.
1996: Not in France's Group.
1998: In a Group with France.
2000: In a Group with France.
2002: In a Group with France.
2004: Not in France's Group.
2010: Not in France's Group.
2012: Not in France's Group.
2018: In a Group with France.
2020: Not in France's Group.
2022: In a Group with France.
7 times out of 14, counting both Euros and World Cups.
4 out of 6, if only World Cups count. Crazy statistic IMO.
I'm happy with a place as runner-up from THAT group though, finishing above Netherlands (like in 2012).
Denmark have been awful since qualifying for Qatar, so I do fear they'll be humiliated (again) in Germany IRL.

Ha, speaking of "go-to" signings in another thread, I totally forgot about Fosu-Mensah. Used to be a player, I always seemed to find room for, whether I played with a top team and needed a reliable backup or played with a lesser team and needed a versatile starter. Too bad his career didn't work out as expected/hoped, when he first played for Man United, at first he really looked like the real deal to me.
The departure of Brobbey is a realistic one, and an ambitious signing for West Ham, considering the fee. When these numbers land at the Ajax desk, you really need to let the player go. The same with Sutalo. Let's hope you make some decent signings to replace them, so you'll avoid a 22/23 scenario with gold leaving and replacements not being at an adequate level.
Anton Gaaei joining FC Midtjylland is a very realistic move! Often we see these players move out from the Danish league, then not making it abroad, then returning home with FC København and FC Midtjylland being the most likely destinations for these talents. Good one EA!

Yes, good on YOU then 😉 I also love when I can choose between several clubs, who target a player of mine. Seems you've been able to choose between a fair few realistic ones there.
I know what you mean about getting players in the other way. The wage is an issue for me too, especially when I find an unwanted player from the top Premier League clubs. I can't pay their wages, so I'm down to loan deals with a 50/50 coverage of their wage or so. If I want them permanently, I would have to wait and see if they would perhaps run out of contract at some point and sign them on a free.

It's true that fitness comes before performance in pre-season friendlies. However, not scoring across any of the three games must be a little concern. At least among the fans, who don't always see the big picture.

It is exactly as he said: this is the best the team could do without the six that had left for EURO 2004: no Bergwijn, no Berghuis, no Sosa, no Wijndal, while Brobbey (West Ham) and Sutalo (Real Madrid) have made a transfer. Regulars like Rensch, Taylor and v.d. Boomen were substitutes, because I wanted to try out new arrivals, return arrivals and two youth academy players.
I've tried a game in traditional 4-3-3 (Nottingham 0-3), in 4-4-2 (Almería 0-2) and last year's 3-4-3 (Lille 0-2). That last game wasn't bad; the goals came exclusively from penalties. While I did not create much, in all three games I had most of ball possession and during the last game I could actually control a large portion of the game.
Nothing to worry about: when the top dogs return and if I pick up a capable player or two, the team will be ready for Eredivisie - whether it's good enough for Champions League remains to be seen...
