Xbox controller unresponsive in clubs game

When i load into a clubs game on fc24 my controller doesn’t respond.

im playing on a xbox series s.

the controller works in menus and straight away when my mates back me out of the game but as soon as i load back in, it doesn’t work.

any help please as this is so frustrating.
