Can a PS5 player play FC24 online with PS4 player

There’s 2 different versions of the game for a reason. If you and your friend are on different editions of the same console than you both need to be playing on the old gen version of the game

I have the PS5 version he has the ps4 version. Can I delete the PS5 version and buy and download the ps4 version on my PS5? Thanks

Unless you are low on space, you don't need to delete the PS5 version.

You may be entitled to download the PS4 version for free, depending on your original purchase.

Check the store, find the PS4 version and download/buy.

You will then be able to play together on the PS4 version.

Note that any progress on either game is not transferable - they are totally separate settings/progression.

  @GoonerB onlys seasons are seperate from ps4 version to ps5 version.
  Ultimate team will be transfering between the consolles with progression and all the players

    It's not just seasons - all offline modes/progression isn't transferable, nor is Virtual Pro progression in clubs.
    
    I've never bothered with FUT so I don't know for sure, but seem to recall the Mods here saying they didn't transfer between systems or generations, and everything needs to be redone / repurchased.
    
    If that does transfer then great for anyone who plays FUT - just would be surprised at EA not taking advantage of a cash grab there like they do with everything else.
