Can Founder Evolution Player Item lose its Founder Status if put into other Evo?

With Centurions promo in UT, a new Evolution for Strikers has been released and many people have put their Founder Evolution ST into it (or are strongly considering it).  However, the item seems to lose its specific Founder Rarity Status when doing this.

In the release notes EA have stated that "Founders will receive additional Evolution upgrades, exclusive to their status throughout key moments during the year. These extra Founder Evolutions will allow you to continue to upgrade your Founder Player Item."

The last sentence makes it seem that these extra Founder Evolutions will only work for the specific Founder item? But what if the item was further evolved in another Evolution, will it still be eligible for the next Founder Evolution? 

I have seen many people in various forums and communities asking this question and being on the fence to use (or not to use) their Founder Player Item in current Evos. It would be greatly appreciated if someone from EA Team could clarify and let us know how we should handle our Founder item.
