How do I go about downloading old gen with a disc I put the disc in my console and it automatically downloads the new gen version how do I download the old gen version with the disc

Community ManagerYou can't download the old gen version from the disc. As long as you're on PS5 and have the PS5 disc, you can download the PS4 version on your PS5.

Try looking in the PlayStation store.

I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand what you're saying. You should be able to access the PlayStation store and download the PS4 version on your P5.

If you can't access the PlayStation store, you should contact their support at playstation.com.

Not sure if it's an EA issue or a Playstation issue, but basically it looks like it doesn't register the fact I'm eligible to download the PS4 version from the PS store, despite the fact EA FC 24 should be in my library after installing the game from a PS5 disc.
When I go to the PS Store it only offers me the ability to buy the game.
Seems basically everyone with a PS5 physical edition is experiencing this issue, so it's widespread. There are multiple threads about it on this forum.
I have the same issue. I purchased a digital cd key of Standard Edition (works officially for both Ps4 and Ps5) however I only have PS5 version of the game on my PS5 Console. I am unable to download PS4 version as promised by EA Games. I am looking for help on this. This is annoying that I am unable to play with my friends on PS4 version of the game. There is no option avaialble to choose "select version" when I tried to do.
Is there any confirmation on whether this is an EA or PSN issue? I can access the store, but essentially the PSN store doesn't register that I own EA FC 24 and allow me to download the PS4 version. Both PSN and EA haven't come to me with a definitive answer.
I'm doing exactly this, it only shows one FC 24 thumbnail and that one ONLY has the PS5 logo on it. Selecting it gives no option to download PS4 version.

Did you hit the button with the 3 dots on it? Here are some images that should show the steps for downloading.
Many thanks, this confirms that there is an issue. I'm attaching a screenshot that shows I'm not able to select the option "Select Version". Console language is swedish, but you should make the options out:
"Starta aktivitet" = Start activity
"Spela" = Play
"Visa produkt" = View product
"Sluta följa" = Stop following
"Hälsa / Klassificeringar / Sekretess / Villkor" = Health / Ratings / Privacy / Terms
Edit: I have also tried restoring licesense, system software and game is updated and I've tried with other accounts on same PS5. Going to PS Store page only gives me the option to purchase the game, it doesn't say "In library" or anything like that.
Hi there - see the attached. Haven't got time to hook a capture kit up so hopefully the photos show the issue I'm having.
Essentially, the PS4 version isn't in my Library, despite me clearly having the PS5 version.
I don't have the 'choose version' button nor the PS4 icon in my library thumbnail.
Just to confirm, I own and purchased the physical PS5 edition of EA FC 24.

Try going here - https://library.playstation.com/recently-purchased. Can you see the PS4 version available for download?
I'm really grateful for your effort, but I've raised a case before and it came to nothing, and there are multiple threads on this forum that come to the same conclusion. I got told that it's not possible and the case was closed with "No Fix".
I feel I don't have something that I was sold, basically, and the help so far has given me no confidence this will ever be resolved.
This is an issue not unique to me and I presume can only be resolved by the physical PS5 version registering with the PS store that the PS4 version is 'purchased'.
I can only hope that Sony/PSN/EA get their heads together to fix this, otherwise it'll have been money wasted.

The dual entitlement only works if you have the PS4 version and not the PS5 version. It is specifically for players looking to upgrade from PS4 to PS5 and sadly does not work the other way around if you purchased the PS5 version.
Which is contrary to a lot of the information found on EA Answers for this issue. I can find many threads where the opposite of this is stated.
Is anyone from EA able to formally confirm the above? As it seems many people are looking for this.

This makes no sense to me since the PS5 version comes with dual entitlement. I'm looking in to this for you and will report back when I have an update.

Did you originally install the game on this console under your own account? If not, can you check to see if the original account can download the PS4 version? If you are using the original account, please try these steps:
- Remove the game from the Library
- Remove the disc
- Restore Licenses
- Restart PS5
- Insert back the disc and check if you're able to install the PS4 Version

If you did mean delete, this is what I've done, and followed the steps you suggested, in that order. I've reinserted the disc, and the game has installed the PS5 version with no prompt or choice from me.
I still don't have the ability to 'choose version', nor does the PS4 version show in my library.
I note a separate thread about this historically has an EA member say the physical PS5 version does not include Dual Entitlement:

I really appreciate your help in trying to resolve this, but it'd be great to know if I'm actually just recieving the expected behaviour. If it's not clear to EA community managers, it's certainly not clear to consumers (like me). I don't think it's something that is just limited to my account.
