Career mode - invitation National team

So my player in career mode is quite succesful.

started at ajax, became topscorer, player of the month etc. This leaded to an invitation to the National team. My performance was well, not perfect tho. I just played just one match for National team. Entered the feeld as substitute.  However, I got the transfer to Premier League and again great performance all season. From there a transfer to FC Barcelona, where I am performing great as well. Why isn’t there any invites anymore for the National team? 

also, I can’t add my made player to teams anymore. To add him in National team.. I remember in the old fifa days that was also an option?
