Thought I would buy this game for the first time since FIFA15 and my word.. what a piece of sh*te. I only managed just short of 2 hours of gameplay over 2 days and physically could not put myself through another minute of it. UNINSTALLED. The fact that EA released this crap shows exactly where their priority lies.. I know it wont make even the slightest of difference but I will never purchase an EA game let alone EA FC ever again, purely because of this joke of a game.

This game is a horrible mess on all fronts.
Stamina is a joke, attackers are played like box to box midfielders in this game with no consequences because they seem to have 100 defending & infinite stamina. Defenders can reach top speed instantly and close everything down. The recovery time on missed tackles doesn't exist because people button bash tackle plus even if you evade the tackle for some reason your attacker will freeze meaning it's too slow to push forwards or open an attack. The midfield is still jammed up because as I said everyone uses these fast attackers to defend, if your opponent makes a mistake the A.I. defense with it's 150 pace will sprint back and stand 3 feet infront the keeper to auto block everything you try. Goal keepers can't save certain types of shots but become super heroes with others. The attacking support won't keep up with the run of play when you on attack, I had a 3 on 1 situation one of my attackers who running right up the middle he got to the edge of the box, stopped running and starting gliding backwards the other one decided to run into the defender essentially sabotaging the attack.
High pressure has got to be the cheapest, nastiest game mechanic I have ever come across in a video game to date. They maraud forwards into all space, 3 things are likely to happen: 1. When you try to lob the ball across the pitch because there's no one to pass to the ball will deflect off the defender and magically fly, deviate straight to an attacker in the middle of the pitch 2. The game will arbitrarily decide to ignore your own input changing the weight and direction of the pass to allow it be intercepted right in the middle of the pitch 3. If you manage to tackle, the attack will turn into defense instantly again putting in the stupidest tackles, as they barrel into you, while you try to clear the ball but you can't & the ball will deflect, rebound perfectly like a square pass to an open attacker.
Also on a sidenote I've had enough of Van Dijk, he's borderline impossible to beat at times. And these awful, terrible developers put him in the TOTY Nominees knowing full well this community is going vote for him no matter what and he'll win.
@Tauntmatt regarding Van Dijk, you should have no problems getting past him against me, that's if he's not getting sent off for things that aren't red card offences (being tackled when bringing the ball out of defence because the attacker that tried to get the ball off him fell over because the attacker was apparently "clean through" or tackling a player, getting the ball cleanly without catching the player because the attacker was "clean through" - I watched the replay on both of those. The second one is pot luck though because I tackled a player in the same area and mistimed it and caught the player and he received a yellow for it.
- @MikeBru2102 Sounds like just broken collision, first touch mechanics plus inconsistent refs. Just more stuff to add to the list.
@Tauntmatt When Van Dijk got his red card for cleanly getting the ball, my opponent was probably just as baffled as I was, as usually opponents skip replays before I get a chance to see it. I couldn't believe it. There's been times where my player is on the recieving end of a career ending tackle and nothing is given, no advantage played or anything.
I scored from a rebound off the keeper the other day and as the ball was hitting the back of the net my player was tackled and I had to take a penalty. So my opponent got advantage, not me, as they had a second chance to keep the ball out of the net. Luckily the keeper guessed the wrong way. It's absolute madness
The offside thing is completely broken. Players flagged for being offside when there's defenders ahead of them and players passing to players who are clearly offside and they go on and score.
Shots that you would normally put away going high and wide in some matches when you put just enough power on the shot to hit it straight at the goal.
I don't think the devs have ever watched a football match.
@TauntmattOn top of that as a result of the auto swarming tactic every single player on your team forgets how to control a ball, try playing in squad battles and you can control your players, turning works, if you try turn online right now your player turns at weird angles getting the ball stuck under their feet, only happens online.
Honestly that ftp FIFA world had better online gameplay and that was laggy as anything.
- @R1ckyDaMan19 Yeah they don't run, don't move, can't control the ball, can't turn, you essentially have to hit lobs from fullback to fullback. I played through it in EVERY match today in champs and the amount of just nasty goals you concede because the A.I. wins the ball for them is crazy.
I couldn't count on one hand the goals scored from build up, it's always a deflection, a re-bound, a driven through from the edge of the box past the halfway line, the A.I. running into me, really really poor touches.
Stamina should be split into 2 categories, defensive and offensive, so players who don't have defensive stamina while on defense if you sprint non-stop, put in ridiculous tackles stamina drain quicker than someone who does have that trait.
