If EA have the same UEFA licenses as FIFA 23, then there will be 12 clubs who qualify for Europe in career mode that don’t end up in the group stages.
However in EA25, the UCL, UEL and UECL will all be expanding to 36 teams. There will need to be an additional 12 clubs in the group stages.
There will be an additional 4 teams as France have been given an extra UCL spot, along with the new 2 best coefficient nations from the year before. Also because Russia have now dropped out of the nations given 2 spots, we then get one extra as well. That does mean that only 4 clubs who qualify for Europe in career mode in EA 25 would not end up in a group stage if current licenses stay as they are.
Therefore, EA really need to get a dozen or so new clubs. The top non-Russian clubs over the last 10 years are:
1. Olympiacos - 10 group stage qualifications
2. Qarabag - 10 group stage qualifications
3. Ludogorets - 9 group stage qualifications
4. Crvena Zvezda - 7 group stage qualifications
5. Partizan Belgrade - 6 group stage qualifications
6. Maccabi Tel Aviv - 6 group stage qualifications
7. Astana - 6 group stage qualifications
8. Slovan Bratislava - 5 group stage qualifications
9. Zorya Luhansk - 5 group stage qualifications
10. Dnipro - 4 group stage qualifications
11. Sheriff Tiraspol - 4 group stage qualifications
12. BATE Borisov - 4 group stage qualifications
13. Apollon Limassol - 4 group stage qualifications
14. Hapoel Be’er Sheeva - 4 group stage qualifications
15. Maccabi Haifa - 3 group stage qualifications
I know not all of these will happen, but surely at least 5 or 6 of these need to be added to remove the likes of 4th placed Polish, Romanian and Irish clubs making it to group stages.
