Lob through ball PS5

• A lot of the times I try a chipped through ball (L1 + triangle) it seems the game doesn't recognise the L1 and the ball just goes along the ground. The people I play with have the same issue.

Very frustrating and we won't be buying a game if one of the core ways of playing doesn't even work half the time.

This is the first ea fc I've bought in 4 years so maybe I'm missing something. But nothing I've tried or looked up helps.
